We loved everything so much we came back the next day. This place will be a regular stop for us whenever we're in Montreal. We also had the cinnamon rolls every day. Highly recommend.
They make freshly baked bread but what I loved the most about the Premier Moisson Marché Jean-Talon location is the space & pastries. I came here alone once & with friends, & I would say it's a nice study area because of how much lighting there are. There are not many plugs so keep in mind on where you are sitting.
It's great to hangout & catch-up with friends. I love their desserts because it's simple yet flavourful. I'd recommend the Cream Eclair with tea/coffee!
What I ate: Latte glacé & Raspberry Pischachio cake (close to $14 CAD), Hibiscus Mango sparkling Tea & Cream Eclair (close to $12 CAD).
If you're not a regular you might not know where the'line' to get served is. Very awkward. Smells of divine bread . Great choice of breads, pastries, cakes, pies, croissants, etc. Coffee is ok but expected better in an Italian neighborhood. Friendly staff. Outside & inside seating. Parking (free if lucky, & $ in adjacent streets to the market)
Getting bought by Metro ruined it. Pastries & sandwiches are not very good anymore. Staff are good & bread still seems to be solid.
If you're ever at the Jean Talon Market in Montreal, you have to check out Première Moisson! This charming bakery & pastry shop has an amazing variety of goodies, from artisanal breads & sandwiches to delicious deli meats & a tempting selection of sweet & savory pastries. I couldn't resist grabbing a yummy blueberry danish & the best cappuccino ever-so good! I ended up buying one of everything because it all looked too delicious to pass up. Every bite was delightful, & the staff couldn't have been friendlier! They even offered to let me try their best-selling bread & pastries. If you're craving authentic French bread & pastries, this is definitely the place to be!
I just needed a place to sit down for a bit while at the Jean Talon market & found this cute little cafe/bakery. They offer a variety of sandwiches, pastries, cakes, breads, chocolates, etc. I got myself an almond croissant which I'm planning to have for my breakfast at the airport tomorrow. They offer free wifi too but I wish their staff would clean the tables as some of them are dirty.
The baked goods are delightful. We really enjoyed the quiche we took home & all the bread was delicious.
Staff was very friendly & welcoming. Pastries & breads were fantastic.
