This newer chicken spot is an acceptable replacement. The concept is kind of funny- you can go totally unhealthy like I did on my first visit with the fried chicken sandwiches, or the opposite way with a much healthier bowl loaded with veggies (mimic of the Poulet Rouge concept). They have a good variety of sauces available for customization. Service is generally good, although I did notice the guy didn't drain the beans properly when preparing my bowl last time.
Ubereats - Overall 3.5/5 for me.
The food is ok but there's better options. The bowls are good but Poulet rouge is more flavourful in my opinion (got the lemon flavor). Again the fried chicken is good but Madame poulet is crispier & more generous.
I liked that you can get a mix of grilled & fried chicken, if you're a group that can be nice.
The fried chicken is exceptional, featuring a unique, crispy spice blend & a generous portion. Pair that with absolutely delicious waffle fries & a queen sauce that definitely doesn't disappoint.
Awesome fried chicken spot in downtown Montreal. Their chicken burgers are phenomenal
Tried the fried chicken tenders combo. One of the best halal fried chicken available here! The chicken is served fresh & hot! Also have good spicy options. A small drawback, the seating here is limited.
The menu keeps things focused without feeling limited: bowls, fried chicken tenders, wraps, & burgers all built around chicken that is genuinely exceptional. It's remarkably tender, carefully prepared, & seasoned with confidence.
It may actually be the best'fast food' chicken we've ever had.
The spice blend has real depth, the coating isn't heavy or greasy, & the spicy option actually earns its name.
Then there are the sauces. Twelve of them, each distinct, all worth trying. The King & Queen sauces stand out, but the real pleasure is the range-nothing feels like an afterthought. I was handed a generously filled cup of the King sauce & briefly felt the temptation to drink it straight 😅.
What makes it work is conviction. They believe in what they're serving, & that belief shows in every detail-no shortcuts, no compromises.'Royal' isn't just branding here; it feels earned. If you care about fried chicken done properly, this place deserves your attention.
We ordered the Familial with some Nashville & some regular fried strips. Everything was great! The chicken was crispy on the outside & super flavourful & tender on the inside. The Nashville is very spicy for those not used to it but very tasty.
Plenty of sauces to choose from but we totally recommend the spicy mayo & the blue cheese sauces.
The owner was super nice & even gave us some cookies for my kids.
Must try!
