Vendredi le 10 avril lors d'un anniversaire nous avons eu le plaisir d'être servi par Ellie qui nous a offert un service professionnel, chaleureux & attentionné. Tous nos plats étaient exquis è la hauteur de ce que nous attendions. Nous avons passé un excellent moment.

Tried the seafood linguine & mussels with vodka sauce & fries & they were delicious. The crème brûlée was also very good. Thanks for the great service.
My family loves coming here, amazing good quality food & wonderful service. We have come for lunch, supper, brunch & always plan our group events (birthdays, baptisms, etc.) here & it never disappoints. Lora is always so helpful & accommodating for planning of bigger groups. Really amazing service from the moment we reserved to the moment we left. Highly recommend for any event, family brunch or just a dinner for 2!!
As usual, the food was amazing. Love the atmosphere. Excellent service. The manager makes sure that everyone is enjoying their meal & the service. Today was a brunch, the place was full, but the service was still on point. Excellent job to the whole team 👍

I always have such an amazing experience at Portovino Laval. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm & inviting & makes you feel comfortable right away. The staff truly go above & beyond. They're not only professional, but genuinely kind, attentive, & welcoming, which creates such a great energy throughout the whole place, & the manager is fantastic as well, always ensuring everything runs smoothly & that guests are well taken care of. It really feels like one big family, & that shows in the level of service you receive. The food is absolutely incredible, everything is fresh, flavorful, & clearly made with care & attention to detail. Every dish I've tried has been consistently delicious, & you can tell there's real pride behind what comes out of the kitchen. It's the kind of place where you can fully relax & enjoy your time, which is exactly why I keep coming back again & again. I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone looking for great food, great service, & an all-around amazing experience.
Had a great brunch at Portevino Restaurant. The food was delicious, the staff was super nice, & the atmosphere was warm & welcoming. We met Costa, the owner, who was incredibly kind & attentive-he even took great care of my son, which meant a lot to us. Really enjoyed our time & will definitely be back!

La nourriture était tout simplement incroyable, avec une variété impressionnante de choix. Il y en a vraiment pour tous les goûts, autant pour les petits que pour les grands mangeurs !
L'espace est magnifique, lumineux & surtout très spacieux, ce qui est idéal avec des enfants. Le personnel est chaleureux, attentionné & professionnel du début à la fin. Tous nos invités ont été charmés !

J'ai été pour le brunch du dimanche. La sélection est incroyable! Il y en a pour tous les goûts. Les aliments sont frais & il y a énormément de choix pour le déjeuner & le dîner.

I visited Portovino in Laval with a group over the weekend, having heard about the restaurant over the years & finding the menu promising. Unfortunately, the experience was mixed, & I apply my rule of giving the lowest star rating for overall, which brings this to a 3/5.
Service:
The service was hands down the best part of the experience. We were welcomed with a smile & shown to our section promptly. Our waiter was super friendly, helpful, & understanding throughout the night. When we mentioned not liking the mocktail sangria (which had an unpleasant aftertaste), he graciously removed it from the bill without hesitation. The staff truly elevated the evening.
Atmosphere:
The atmosphere was nice but nothing extraordinary. The space is modern with low lighting & higher ceilings, creating a comfortable setting. It was buzzing with people enjoying a night out, which added energy to the room.
Food:
This is where Portovino fell short. We ordered calamari, which was perfectly cooked & a highlight. The eggplant parm, however, was undercooked. The eggplant was hard to cut & had an overly crunchy texture that suggested it needed more time in the oven. Unfortunately, no one checked on us during this course, likely because the staff was busy with large groups.
The pizza was the biggest disappointment. While large in size & nicely presented, the flavor did not meet expectations. The sausage in particular felt undercooked, lacking any char that would indicate the high heat oven cooking you expect from a pizza. For the price point, the quality was simply not there.
Drinks were fine overall, but the mocktail sangria had a distinct bad aftertaste. As people who regularly enjoy non-alcoholic beverages, this was one of the rare instances where we could not finish a drink.
Verdict:
Portovino has a wonderful team & a pleasant atmosphere, but the food execution & pricing need attention. For the cost, I expected more from the dishes. I hope they address these kitchen inconsistencies, as the service alone deserves recognition.
Wow ! Nous sommes allés au brunch gastronomique du dimanche & c'était excellent. Nous avons été accueillis par le propriétaire qui a pris le temps de nous expliquer le concept, le service était excellent, l'endroit très bien tenu, les produits délicieux & frais. Je vais sûrement y retourner.

Brunch is amazing. Food. Service. Waiters. Ambiance. Nothing short of excellence. Smaller space than West Island location back in the day however every station is very well planned & no lineups of hungry customers waiting impatiently at any station. Recommend Laval to all for Brunch. Two floors for private dining upstairs. $55 per plate for the food selection they have is not excessive. BYOB. Win. Win. Bravo Team 🏆🏆🏆
