We had a nice time there. We booked a table for 11 people & had enough room, even for a stroller. The atmosphere is nice, though a bit smoky because it's a barbecue restaurant. The meat is okay, but the portions might be a bit small for meat lovers. We ordered two platters of meat for four people.
What we really enjoyed were the sides, especially the Gyeranjjim (Korean steamed eggs) & the unlimited Banchan (small side dishes). I personally loved their homemade Kimchi.
It's worth noting that although the waiters were really busy, they stayed calm & were helpful throughout.
Finally, it is on the expensive side, just like most Korean barbecue spots in Montreal.View more
Honestly i would have loved to have more options ... a lot of the side dishes that comes with the food we didnt eat ... & ended up ordering chicken wings on top of a meal to cook for 2 ...& it would be nice if the booth had lights? its really dark when you eat its odd... The staff was really nice tho & the drink were fineView more
This korean BBQ comes with a lot of unlimited side dishes & it's fun to mix & match the grilled meat with them. Their soups are also great & go well with the meat.
The staff were friendly & it was fast to ask for refills.
The ambiance is very nice, but the ventilation system seems nonexistent. It's very smokey inside & you end up smelling like BBQ.View more
What a great experience we had!! Meat excellent, mocktails tasty !! Side dishes wow the seafood soup yummy !View more
We celebrated a birthday at Pony BBQ Coréen, a restaurant I had been eager to visit for quite some time. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the unique decor, which added a charming vibe to our dining experience. The menu was extensive & priced similarly to other BBQ places in the area. Arriving shortly after opening, we enjoyed the benefit of having the place mostly to ourselves. The service was fantastic-attentive & friendly-though I can't speak to the experience during busier times. As expected with BBQ restaurants, be prepared to leave smelling like BBQ smoke, which is something we were well aware of beforehand. One minor issue was that several of the meat cuts were still slightly frozen, possibly due to our early arrival. Overall, we had a great experience at Pony BBQ Coréen & look forward to visiting again to try more dishes from their menu!View more
We started with 📌Rabboki-ramyun noodles, spicy k-sauce, rice cake, fish cake, & a hard boiled egg. Unfortunately, it tasted rather plain & wasn't as spicy as we'd hoped. On the brighter side, the 📌Jokbal (soy-braised pig's trotters) was fantastic!! Perfectly cooked & richly spiced, it's a must-try here❤️ The real star of the night, though, was the 📌Hetteok & Ice Cream. This sweet Korean pancake with cranberry compote & mixed nuts was absolutely delicious. Sweet, nutty, & warm! It was the perfect dessert & my favorite dish at Pony!✨ For drinks, we had the 📌Milkis Fizz & 📌Gochu Spicy Margarita, but both tasted like watered down alcohol, which was a letdown. Overall, Pony has some real gems on the menu (don't miss the Jokbal & Hetteok!), but the flavor & quality of the other dishes & drinks could use some refinement.View more
We tried the combo for 4 for 180$. It came with 5 different type of meat. The side dishes are unlimited which us great. Overall the food is pretty good. The only issue is I feel like there's not enough ventilation, you feel suffocated while cooking your food. I wish the air system was better. So don't bring your favorite clothing. Ladies: don't go after a hair wash day 🤣🤣🤣 Overall, service was great.View more
We loved this place. We were visiting Montreal & this place showed up on quite a few best-of lists. We didn't have a reservation & it was a Sat nite, & they found us a table & just asked us to please limit our dinner to 2. It was just the 2 of us, so no problem. JP was our waiter & he was great. So helpful with drink & food recommendations. We are veteran Korean BBQ eaters & the meats were excellent. Tons of unlimited banchan as well. Got a side of perfectly crispy garlic chicken wings as well. Lots of fun alcohol & non alcoholic drinks as well as a large selection of BBQ meats & veggies & tons of other Korean dishes like jaepche, Bibimbap & kimchee stew. Don't miss this place!View more
Best Korean BBQ in mtl. The side dishes are perfectly marinated, & the food just delicious with big portions. Felt at home here, the staff were so friendly it made me feel like I got to know them. Overall, great service, amazing food, amazing people- truly a night made memorable thanks to this place.View more
We had a very nice dinner here & enjoyed all the dishes. The kitchen dishes are excellent; we had soondubu which is very flavorful. & the jokbal is probably the best in Montreal, super tender. The rose tobokki is well balanced. We also had a few meat dishes to grill, which were also very good. Special shout out to JP who is our excellent server & make sure we lack nothing ( I mean nothing!!!) Thank you 😉 If you like K BBQ you won't regret giving this place a try!View more
Although I have limited experience with Korean food, this is a very successful place. The meats & side dishes were delicious. The waiters were attentive & friendly. Recommended.View more
Food was delicious! Even though we were 6 people, we had a combo for four & it was enough to have all of us full. They also have a great variety of refillable side dishes too!View more
The best Korean BBQ so far in Mtl. The side dishes are all amazing. Nice vibe & cool decor. We ordered 3 types of beef, rosé tteokboki, fried chicken (wow), bibimpab, rabokki, cheese gyeran, ... & the delicious dessert hotteok with ice cream (miamm). I highly recommend this place to any Korean food fan!View more
Lovely korean BBQ with amazing decor & atmosphere. Not too loud during week. Unlimited & good side dishes. No individual fans or ventilation system your clothes will definitely smell a little smokeyy. Not All you can eat but combos are a good deal & decent amount of meat. Meat quality is definitely better than what you get at all you can eat places. Worth your money.View more
If you want to feel like you are in South Korea, go eat here! We were 5 & tried the party of 4 + veggie & pajeon side dishes! Was too much but everything was tasty! It was cool to sit around the round table!View more
I came here on Saturday afternoon, & there weren't many people, but the service was a little slow, probably due to only two servers working. The pork belly & pork chow were really good, but the portions were relatively small. The beef brisket was alright. The fried chicken actually more like Japanese karage. When I go to a Korean BBQ, I hope to see cheese corn & kimchi as side dishes, but you have to order them here. Overall, everything was alright, but I wasn't impressed.View more
Waitress was really sweet however we didn't see her until the end of our meal for the bill. It would of been a better experience if they explained each of the dishes as they were dropped off. Overall the experience was lovely, everyone was friendly, great vibe & AMAZING FOOD!View more
I had a great experience at Pony Restaurant. The ambiance was cozy & inviting, & the service was friendly & attentive. The meat was fresh & tender, & the side dishes were delicious. I especially enjoyed the spicy kimchi & the sweet potato sides. The portions were generous & the price was reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves Korean barbeque.View more
Really fun design, felt like we were having street food in South Korea. We had the Beef set for 2 & loved it, & service was quick & attentive. Felt super full. To improve: the floors are quite sticky, & slippery so have to be careful when standing up or walking around to the washroom, etc. Portion sizes for the set was great but the side dishes were not as great (lacking in taste, would like some more side options: gamja jorim, kongnamul muchim, sigeumchi namul).
The food, service & ambiance are all recommendation worthy. In particular the side dishes are a star on their own even & what's better is that the refills are free!
The food is good, similar to Daldongnae, where you choose what type of meat to bbq. It comes with some side dishes as well. We also tried the steam egg which is very good. The major disappointments in my opinion are the lack of light in the restaurant & the choice of music (dance, rap). The only well lit area is in the back & it's very loud as it's next to the speakers. The rest feels like in a street alley with close to no light.View more
The quality of the meat is very good. I've been to about 4 Korean BBQ restaurants & this is the best. The all-you-can-eat side dishes like kimchi, japchae, & salad were also very good. When I'm in the mood for pork belly, this is where I go.View more
This kbbq has the atmosphere spot-on. The meat was high quality & the other dishes were all prepared with care & attention to detail. I recommend the cheese corn & the pork belly. On top of all that, JP helped make the experience 10/10 :)View more
Exceptionnal service. JP very friendly & very welcoming. Had the flank that was new to the menu & that was AMAZING, & & you can't go wrong with the pork belly. A lot of nice side dishes that keep the flavors interesting. Good service, good vibes, & good food. 🔥🔥🔥View more
Cool vibe. Lovely meat & side dishes. Friendly staffs. Defo bring more friend here!!View more
The layout of the tables in the back of the dining area isn't very nice as there are waiters/waitresses passing by every second. Despite this we had trouble getting their attention to get our side dishes refilled or to order more drinks. There weren't many side dishes considering it's KBBQ. When I went the ventilation was also quite poor, one person at our table kept getting all the smoke from the grill. The gochu cocktail is really good though 🌶️View more
The music was realllly loud. I couldn't hear my friends & family talking. I wish I could have ordered the side dishes with an Ipad so the delevery of them would have been more often. We had to wait for them even tho they were free. There is a lot of smoke in the restaurant, maybe adding fans can be a great idea. My clothes smelled meat's smoke for ever after leaving. For the price , I wish you offered more variaty of food. Like all you can eat sushi of dumpling of refill of soup for free etc. In general the food was good, but because of the smoke, the loud environment & the limited choice of free all you can eat side dishes ( which was really small portion) I don't think i will go back at the restaurant.
