Délicieuse pizza fine, ingrédients de qualité, la salade fraîche, les polpette tendres, les arancini aux épinards, le service sympathique...View more
We walked in & right away were impressed by the cool atmosphere & great music, with decor to match. Our server was great, speaking perfect English once we made it clear that we spoke almost no French & giving us tips about where to go in the city, & my dad said his Negroni was the best he has ever had. We then had salad, which was delicious, & pizza, which was the best any of us have ever had. Would highly recommend stopping in if in the area!View more
We were greeted by telling us to order quick because the kitchen was closing in 20 mins (it was 910pm on a Friday in downtown Montreal). Then we waited more than 10 minutes for a waiter. The starters took forever & the salads were drowning in vinaigrette. Pizzas were good though. Then in the middle of eating we were asked not if we wanted anything else, but to pay since they were closing the cash. My advice - order your pizza & pick it up. This was less than a fast food experience, & I remembered why, despite living across the street, why we NEVER go.
With brick walls, wooden floors & soft lighting, the ambiance at this restaurant is warm & inviting. My wife & I have been here at least five times, & have never had a bad experience. The servers are unfailingly friendly, & well-informed about the menu & wine list. There's a simple green salad on the menu which is so good I order it every time I go. Must be the dressing which is flavourful & light. My wife also gives the Caesar salad a big thumbs-up. There's a wood oven prominently featured in the middle of the restaurant. The thin-crust pizzas are overall very good, with fresh toppings & spicy oil you can drizzle on top if you like. One negative about the pizzas: for having been cooked in a wood-fired oven, the center of the pizzas are a bit soggy, not crisp at all. It's been the same each time we visited. Should be an easy fix for them to make.
The good:
- Authentic pizza with excellent flavor. Light-years ahead of the average on the taste & style.
- Quaint decor.
The less good (weird details):
- don't expect quantity. The toppings on the pizza taste great but are sparse.
- dish under Salads was not a salad (green beans & lemon ricotta. Zero leaves). Asked to replace with the arugula salad & got a Caesar. Third time was the charm.
- Waiter saw wine glasses empty. Came to ask if we wanted another. We told him we had a bottle. He went away without refilling the glasses.
- Waiter replaced the water bottle twice but again never refilled the glasses.View more
Excellente pizza & salade. Service courtois & professionnel. Endroit très chaleureux
Belle ambiance, beau décor. Salade de roquette de grande fraicheur. Pizza servie froide, pas suffisamment cuite. Pâte à pizza caoutchouteuse, non croquante.
Griffintown has a number of Neapolitan style pizzerias & the ‘pies' from Number 900 stack up extremely well. An authentic Margherita will set you back $11 at lunch time... has thin dough with a puffy edge with nice burned spots for flavor, GREAT tomato sauce, fior di latte & fresh basil leaves. Very enjoyable. Add $1 & get a salad starter. The value at lunch time is really, really good. Of course, beer / wine, desserts & coffee is where restos make most of their ‘margin' & can easily double your bill, but even those items have fair prices.
Our service was very good, though I always find it a bit peculiar when there are only two people at the table & the server needs to ask, "who ordered the salami pizza?". Not a big deal, but still, makes me wonder...
The place is spotless & has a pleasing decor.
Not the restaurant's fault but you should know that parking at lunch time on that strip of Notre Dame Street can sometimes be a challenge. We got lucky yesterday & were parked almost in front of the door ! but I have been here several times before & sometimes spent 20 minutes or more going around the surrounding streets looking for a spot for my little car...
