The high ratings for this place are inexplicable. This is such a generic Neopolitan pizza restaurant. The most remarkable thing about this place is the impressive looking woodfire stove. As stunning as it looks, results are pretty much the same as any other woodfire stove. The dough was good quality, it's not like they don't know what they're doing. The menu options were uninspired & there were more than one pizza with nuts on it which I thought was a weird menu trend. Light with the toppings too but I know that's typical of Neopolitan pizza. For a $30 personal pizza I just was not too impressed. I enjoyed the pizza but I can think of a lot of other meals I've enjoyed more for the same price.View more

My friends & I came for drinks & to get a first taste of what Magpie has to offer, & it was such a nice experience.
Amira recommended really fun drinks, for example I had the Kid which was a vial of a whiskey strawberry milkshake that just feels like a potion of joy.
The beet salad was amazing & the amandine pizza was delicious & unique.
I will be coming back to try the rest of the menu!View more

Food: The pizza was very good - fresh ingredients, flavourful, & well-made. The only small issue was the crust, which was a bit overly cooked & came out a little too crispy for my taste. Still delicious overall.
Their Tiramisu is 13$, but top-tier... A must try!
Service: Good service. There was only one gentleman working the floor, & despite being on his own, he did a great job keeping up with everyone. Friendly & efficient.
Atmosphere: Cozy & inviting spot, but it was really warm inside. I'm usually the type who always wears a sweater, but I actually had to take it off - that's how hot it was. A bit more airflow or AC would definitely make the experience more comfortable.
Overall, very pleased with the experience & will come back.View more

Absolutely loved my visit to Magpie! The menu is full of tempting options-from fresh homemade gnocchi to creative pizzas like Viande Fumée & Mortadella with pistachios. You can tell they use high quality ingredients, & the flavors are well thought out. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is friendly, & everything is reasonably priced. The pizza dough is thin & crispy. The garnishing is delicious & tomato sauce is tangy. My only suggestion is to spread the sauce & toppings further out on the ring. The pizza ring empty surface is way too big.View more

On m'a vendu un tiramisu à emporter avarié (découvert chez nous, déjà loin du restaurant) ! Était-ce dû au fait d'avoir spécifié aux serveurs que le Virgin bloody cesar mocktail avait à notre goût, un goût de jus de chaussettes épicé (en des termes bien plus courtois, évidemment)... ? Je ne l'espère pas, mais c'est une amusante coïncidence, que l'on relève naturellement & qui n'est pas insultante car il est rare de se voir servir une intoxication alimentaire à 15 dollars. L'autre mocktail que l'on a eu à la place sans frais est cependant très bon. Autrement, l'intérieur du restaurant est sympa, malgré certains serveurs passablement agréables. La pâte à pizza est bonne & pour la garniture, cela dépend (par exemple la pizza fruits de mer a un goût industriel: aucune fraîcheur pour ces fruits de mer qui sont les ingrédients centraux de la pizza). Le samedi soir, on se sentira pressé de quitter le restaurant par le personnel qui lui-même prend son temps, ce qui est paradoxal & peu convivial. Même en temps de pression, des professionnels sont capables de rester courtois & souriants, surtout lorsque l'on laisse des tips.View more

Les boulettes sont délicieuses. Concernant les pizzas, nous avons eu une sauce tomate un peu trop acide à mon goût. La pâte était un peu molle. Peut-être que quelques secondes de plus au four auraient été bénéfiques. Le jambon cru & la mortadella étaient vraiment très bons.View more

Une de mes pizzerias préférées! J'adore leurs choix de pizzas a saveurs parfois hors de l'ordinaire! La pâte est parfaite! L'atmosphère est très cozy. Le service aurait pu être plus attentif - jai parfois eu de la misère a faire de contacts visuels avec serveurs pour leur faire signe que javaos besoin de quelque chose (huile épicée, de l'eau etc). True Neapolitan pizza. Ordered the Margherita. Ingredients used are too quality. Centre of pizza not liquidy/runny like some places do. Unfortunately, parts of crust were burnt. Some say charred & like this. My preference is for a well-cooked crust without black on either top or bottom. Perhaps pizzaiolo needs to pay bit more attention to turning the pizza? This is a small pizzeria. Gets very loud inside. Especially when children or toddlers around. Also, the A/C in the room did not seem to keep up with the heat coming from ovens. Sweltering inside & it wasn't a particularly hot day outside.View more
