Food: The pizza was very good - fresh ingredients, flavourful, & well-made. The only small issue was the crust, which was a bit overly cooked & came out a little too crispy for my taste. Still delicious overall.
Their Tiramisu is 13$, but top-tier... A must try!
Service: Good service. There was only one gentleman working the floor, & despite being on his own, he did a great job keeping up with everyone. Friendly & efficient.
Atmosphere: Cozy & inviting spot, but it was really warm inside. I'm usually the type who always wears a sweater, but I actually had to take it off - that's how hot it was. A bit more airflow or AC would definitely make the experience more comfortable.
Overall, very pleased with the experience & will come back.View more
It was our first time eating stone oven italian pizza. We loved it! We had 3 pizzas for 4 people. The crust was delicious, & the tomato sauce was tangy. We also loved the prosciutto. It's a small & cozy restaurant.View more
True Neapolitan pizza. Ordered the Margherita. Ingredients used are too quality. Centre of pizza not liquidy/runny like some places do. Unfortunately, parts of crust were burnt. Some say charred & like this. My preference is for a well-cooked crust without black on either top or bottom. Perhaps pizzaiolo needs to pay bit more attention to turning the pizza? This is a small pizzeria. Gets very loud inside. Especially when children or toddlers around. Also, the A/C in the room did not seem to keep up with the heat coming from ovens. Sweltering inside & it wasn't a particularly hot day outside.View more
Usually excellent, maybe my favorite, since I love Italian style pizza for the thick crust. But occasionally it seems they burn the heck out of the crust til it's black, which is unfortunate.View more
Great pizza place that opened in 2010 & makes artisanal wood-fire pizza in the Mile-End. The crust is amazing & loved the tomato sauce that they use, a little on the tangy side but excellent in my opinion. Their pastas are great & cocktail are fire! Would absolutely recommendView more
Meatball Pizza/ Sauce, Mozzarella, Homemade Meatballs, Mushrooms, Parsley 🍕 First Pizza of the new year coming in hot from @pizzeriamagpie & I have to say it's a banger. First time trying this spot with my buddy & everything was a hit. We got two pies that day which were the meatball style you see here & the Almonds 3 cheese. I love the decor of this spot, really gives you a feel of a old school resto with the decorative chilling designs out of what looks like a material resembling copper. The atmosphere I could tell at night when the lights come down almost feels like a old school drinkery. The first Pizza I got was the Meatball, absolutely loved it. I've never had parsley on a pizza before & honestly I can't imagine whilingly adding it in my own but truthfully it did add something to it. The meatballs were delicious & tender, the sauce was on point & the crust & dough itself was amazing a solid 9/10 for what I like to see. The almond Pizza is one that my buddy choose. Again not one I'd go out of my way to order on my own otherwise but I'm happy he picked it. 3 cheese from gruyere, ricotta & Mozzarella, toasted almonds with salt & spicy honey. Really a fun combination that just works honestly. Have to give them a try this new year they really make a great product & fun date night spot.View more
Wonderful food & staff! You know when something as simple as the salad is so well executed that everything will be amazing, & it was. The best pizza I've had in a long time, perfect crust & delicious sauce.View more
What a disappointing experience I had at Magpie a few weeks ago... ordered the mortadella pizza (which at $25 is already expensive enough on its own) with a gluten-free crust (the most expensive GF extra I've ever seen). I received a pizza with a couple paper-thin slices of mortadella & barely any visible cheese on it. At that price, I would've expected far more toppings. The GF crust was good, very decent texture, although a bit sweet for my taste - but definitely not amazing enough to justify a $7 extra! I was really looking forward to being able to eat at such a hyped-up place, but at that price I did not find it worth it.View more
We have been going to magpie for years when visiting Montreal. The pizza is delicious. This last visit I had the gluten free crust with my choice of pizza. It was delicious & so wonderful to eat an entire pizza. Delicious.
The pizza had good quality ingredients, & was good if you like a softer more chewy crust. They were out of beer, didn't have the ingredients for the cocktail we asked for instead, & didn't have milk for cappuccinos... really not cool. The service was slow. Too bad. Cute decor & cozy. Maybe it was an off day.
The pizza here is sooo delicious. I love the crust, it's so satisfying & doesn't sit heavy afterwards. Even my daughter who is very selective are it up. The service was just perfect, we felt very much at home & had ana amazing time. Love this place. It's a staple that always gives us a wonderful experience.
Our dinner experience this time around was disappointing. The pizza crust in both our pizzas was so tough we could not cut through it & felt like we were sawing it apart (& noticed other customers experiencing the same problem). We were asked by the wait staff way too often if we were done when clearly we still had food on our plates & had our mouths full, so we felt like we were being rushed out. We had been to Magpie about a year prior to the pandemic & it was excellent so we were really looking forward to returning but wow what a change in both food & service!
This is a gem of a restaurant just off the beaten path. Cute interior design, friendly bilingual staff, open air concept that seats enough people to make it interesting for people watching. Thin-crust pizza with fresh & tasty toppings. Custom able for food restrictions. A good selection of wines by the bottle. A great evening!
Best pizza in town...even the gluten free crust is amazing! I also enjoyed the green salad. My favorite part was a drink called Spring Fling that had cucumber & tequila. It was imagined & prepared by their amazing bartender!
Pizza was top 👌(& I'm a picky Italian lol), service & ambience were on point. Not salty, sauce was savoury & crust was perfect! The parpadelle, special of the day, so tasty.
Totally will be part of routine. Thanks guys
