Review Summary

Reviewers describe Pizzéria Elena as an elevated pizza spot in Griffintown with a warm vibe and friendly, attentive staff. The pizza is consistently praised for a light, crisp yet chewy crust, high quality toppings, and a range of flavors from mushroom and spinach to sopressata, calabrese and classic margherita, with sauces and dips adding extra bite and ice cream finishing the meal nicely. Many say the slices are substantial and good value for the quality, while others note the price can be high and the seating limited, making takeout the norm. The overall consensus is that the pizza by the slice or whole pie delivers a true New York style experience and stands out in Montreal, with enthusiasm for the vibe, decor and hospitality that encourages returning for both pizza and dessert.

Best pizza around! The slices are generous & the sourdough crust is incredibly satisfying. As someone who really cares about ingredient quality, I love that I can enjoy a slice without it upsetting my stomach. Love the homemade sauces & great wine selection, too. 10/10!

The pizza here is on another level. The big New York style slices & 18 inch pies nail that sweet spot: crisp, foldable crust with just the right amount of chew. It's not greasy or sloppy & the homemade fresh ranch sauce is full of fresh dill.

Top contender for the best slice in montreal. Not surprising coming from this group. The dough is light & crispy, but has a nice soft chew that seems to be sometimes forgotten in the pursuit of a NY style slice. The toppings used are clearly of the highest quality & prepared with professional execution. The sauces & dips have the same amount of care attention put into them as the slice itself.

We had the danny (spinach), pepperoni, calabrese & the plain margarita. Every one of them unique in their flavour profile, & very delicious. The danny was creamy & so well balanced. The pepperoni tasted like none other in mtl… clearly they don't use standard Roma pepperoni. The Calabrese definitely had artisanal salami, you can tell by the distribution of fat pockets within the meat (generic brands tend to mix the meat a lot more). & finally the marg was perfectly simple… able to taste & identify every single ingredient.

Kale Cesar was a 10, cookie was an 11 & dipping sauces gave the slices that extra pop to bring it all together. Finally, the Ice cream brought everything together at the end & made me feel like a kid again.

Those who claim this place is'too expensive' most probably don't understand the cost of executing at this level.

Enfin une excellente pizzeria dans le quartier ! J'ai mis beaucoup de temps à trouver un resto qui fait des pizzas dignes de ce nom. La pâte, la garniture, la cuisson, la sauce, tout est parfait. & les portions sont généreuses.

Oil with pizza flavour

First time I walk in a pizzeria, order a pizza & I am not able to eat it

The pizzas are full of oil or sauce & they don't tell you beforehand they cover them into oil

I had to give away the one I ordered because they dip it into oil & I didn't know it. It feels weird to see your friends eating & you stand there waiting

I suggest people who dislike pizza with oil (or honey depending on your choice) to inform the cashier you do not want to have your pizza dipped into oil

'Dipped' might be excessive but the quantity of oil they put is just insane & very uncommon in any pizzeria I have vsisited anywhere in the world
