Le Piranha Bar en plein centre-ville de Montréal? Oublie les clubs snobs & les bars à cocktails chiants. C'est le spot où tu te sens direct chez toi si t'es plus du genre à avoir les cheveux dans le vent & le cuir sur les épaules. C'est l'un des rares bastions heavy metal, punk & goth en ville, un vrai refuge où la vibe est toujours électrique. Le service est tellement cool & sans prise de tête que tu te sens comme si tu buvais une bière avec tes meilleurs potes. La crowd est ultra chill, & c'est le moment de sortir tes tenues les plus badass sans que personne te juge.
Pis attends, y'a pas que ça! Le Piranha c'est aussi une méga terrasse où tu peux prendre l'air & mater les étoiles (ou les autres punks stylés) sans te faire marcher dessus. Que ce soit pour les shows de malades le week-end qui te font headbanger comme un fou, ou juste pour traîner en semaine, y'a toujours du monde jusqu'à la fermeture. C'est le genre d'endroit où l'énergie est palpable, où tu peux être toi-même à 100%. Si t'as envie de bonne musique, de bonnes vibrations & de te sentir libre, le Piranha Bar, c'est ta place. Been in Montreal 3 days...been here 4 times. A home away from home. Great jukebox selection, decent beer, met 2 different dogs (doesn't get much better than stroking dogs in a bar) & the staff are exactly like every server we've come across in Metal bars around the world - friendly & approachable. We've had the best time in Piranha Bar, highly recommended.
It's Piranha bar, man. The new haven for rockers & metalheads since Fouf's sold out. You've got all the usual potables, several floors, 2 reserved usually for events like local shows, & all in all, it's a fine place to sleaze out with your rocker buddies.
The Piranha Bar is probably one of my favorite places to go in Montreal. I'm still not 100% sure what their schedule is for metal/alternative karaoke, but it's like the most incredible thing ever. Their drinks are poured well & their bartenders are incredibly efficient, knowledgeable, & tolerant. Piranha tanks, decorative bathrooms, slot machines, heavy handed drinks, & loud music- what more could you ask for? 10/10
One of the best venues to see Metal bands passing through town, especially now that the stage is located in the basement. This makes it much cooler in the summer months. Regardless, good sound & intimate setting with clear sightlines. Always good beer available at competitive prices. Be sure to see all your favorite, obscure, Metal bands here.
We liked the bar, the staff was very friendly. We visited this bar because the reviews said it was a metal bar, however, there was unfortunately only very little heavy metal music played the night we were there.
calling this place a dive bar is almost an insult: great for a post workout beer with all the sport venues upstairs (jiu-jitsu, boxing, indoor football), its all booze, rock & roll, & bartenders in cute goth/metal outfits. you feel a bit back in time, & in the best way. if you are into the whole rock & roll scene, this place will feel like home coming back for a gig for sure, see you guys soon :)
