It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The place is very busy on weekends, which I usually take as a good sign. However, the food I was served wasn't tasty, even though it looked quite vibrant. The risotto lacked salt entirely, & the escalope was swimming in a broth with a very strange flavor.
The staff were wonderful & professional. Before serving the wine, they offered me a taste, & when I declined, they brought me a different one to try. I felt uncomfortable refusing repeatedly, so I eventually accepted the next offer. Unfortunately, the wine tasted very diluted - almost as if water had been added - & it had an unpleasant, overly alcoholic aftertaste.
The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, but the summer terrace is furnished with metal tables that wobble & uncomfortable chairs.
They served hot glasses, which I usually take as a positive sign, since it suggests the glasses aren't being hand-washed. But pouring cold water into a hot glass felt counterproductive, especially when your guest is trying to cool down in the summer heat.
On a nice evening night eating on the terrasse the delicious food they prepare is magical. The surroundings of the old buildings makes it extra special
We dined at Pincette on our last night in Montréal for the F1 Weekend, & I haven't stopped thinking about it since. The ambience was cozy yet elegant, & the food - Absolutely divine.
We started with a half-dozen oysters-so fresh & flavorful that we immediately ordered another round. The seared scallops were cooked to perfection, & the lobster risotto was a standout: rich, complex, & crowned with two generous lobster tails. Every bite was a celebration in my mouth.
But what truly elevated the evening was our server, Max. He struck the perfect balance of friendly & professional, & gave us a stellar wine recommendation that paired beautifully with our meal. His knowledge & warmth made us feel so well taken care of-he was the star of the night.
Can't wait to return. If you're in Old Montréal, Pincette is a must.
Absolutely wonderful experience. I'm from Cape Cod & picky about seafood & this was one of the best fish & chips I've ever had, & that includes London! The fish was perfectly cooked, the batter was light, fluffy, & crispy, & the perfectly dressed salad was the ideal accompaniment. The fries could have been a bit crispier but that's a nitpick. Service was warm & friendly, attentive but not overbearing. If you're on a budget & want to experience this lovely restaurant: go for lunch & split something from the set menu. The fish & chips was more than enough for two & reasonably priced (for Montreal) at 27 CAD which included a starter & an entree. Excellent people-watching from a window seat & just a fantastic experience all around. Merci à tous!
Visited Pincette for lunch on Saturday during the Formula One weekend in June 2025, & it was a delightful experience. Seated quickly on the patio, it's a prime spot for people-watching in the heart of Old Montreal. The vibe was lively yet relaxed, perfect for soaking in the bustling atmosphere.
I ordered the burger with foie gras aïoli-absolutely perfect! The flavors were rich, the patty juicy, & the aïoli added a luxurious touch. Paired it with a Bloody Mary, which was spot-on, with just the right kick. My only gripe? The oyster man hadn't arrived yet (it was early afternoon), so oysters weren't available, which was a bit disappointing.
Overall, Pincette nails the ambiance & food. Highly recommend for a chic lunch in Old Montreal, just double-check oyster availability if that's your thing!

Nice place especially for lobster & oyster lovers. But the reason that makes you love this place is their service quality. One really likes the good service & atmosphere in there.
Impeccable seafood options & impressive service! In particular, the octopus was cooked perfectly & the scallops were super tender - melt-in-your-mouth levels of delectability. The staff were very attentive & graciously made suggestions for our dishes. Food was served in a timely manner as well. Great restaurant for a special occasion or fancy meal with family & friends.

Went here today on a date & Marguerite was our bartender & server. Great drinks, oysters were delicious & worth the price, & amazing service from Marguerite!! Will definitely be back.
Unbelievable honestly, this is so far my favorite place in Montreal to eat. Last time I had the scallops & caviar. They were seared to perfection, juicy in the center & with the saltiness from the caviar, to die for. Onto the main course, the lobster ravioli, authentic, rustic, with big chunks of lobster. A truly superb dish. I highly recommend this place & I will be back.
Food is excellent. Anything with lobster or crab will be great. Only issue is one server insisted on not providing the brunch menu until 10:20 even though brunch starts at 10 per website & in-restaurant signage.
Server's were polite & timely. The food was very good. Servers tended to reach directly in front of clients with out notice sometimes, but it probably was due to time & space constraints. All in all it was a great experience. 👍 It was a tour group situation.
