I went yesterday with my girlfriend, & the service was incredible! From the moment we arrived until the very end, the staff was attentive & friendly. Always there if we needed anything.
We started with two appetizers: the imperial rolls (9/10) & the satay kai (8/10). Both were fresh & full of flavor. We also had the Yam Mamuang salad, easily a 9.5/10. The flavors just hit you in the best way!
For the main course, we shared two dishes, including the Koong Poa 9.5/10, & Red Panaeng Curry 10/10 which was exquisite. & for dessert… hands down the best fried banana 10/10 I've had in Montreal! We finished with the Kao Niew Mamuang 9/10 (mango with coconut sticky rice), & it was simply delicious.
Highly recommend - we'll definitely be back!
We were four people & we ordered some entrees & four dishes, we shared all of them. Everything was Delicious, one of the best Pad Thai Shrimp that I have ever had. Excellent Service & very Friendly. Also a plus, the restaurant has great ambiance. Definitely going to be my go to for Thai Food
I tried the lunch menus. They were really good. However, the tom yang kung was average at best. I wish I could've tried other dishes to really tell how good this restaurant is.
Good thai food. A bit expensive for all the dishes Very slow getting the food. It would be better if they can limit the number of tables per night so that the food can come out faster.
Excellent overall. But room temperature was a little warm. Food was tasty but some dishes had lots of sugar. The curries & soups were excellent.
Pick Thai is located in a somewhat obscur office condo building on de Maisonneuve adjacent to the Vendome metro station & across the street from the MUHC hospital...but don't let these digs fool you. Pick Thai has an excellent offering of Thai food that should get more attention than it does. Once you enter the restaurant, it likes a time warp to a completely different locale compared to the outside. Beautiful dark wood accents the entire place complimented by wonderful golden decorations & even some offerings to the buddha. The ambiance completely sets the tone for the meal. The menu is extensive (see all the photos) offering all those classic Thai dishes you know & love. For our dinner I selected the Table'D'hote offering which is of exceptionally value. The meal starts with a Tom Yam soup along with a selection of their most popular appetizers (mango salad, golden pouch, golden triangle & Niem Thod), then a choice of your main [I chose the Oak Kai Yang grilled chicken (which was excellent)] & ending with a coffee or tea. In addition, we had the Shrimp Pad Thai noodle dish (also excellent) & ended with a Banana Fritter dessert (that dish can never fail). Overall service was very good with friendly & helpful staff. In the mood for Thai, then you can't go wrong if you pick Pick Thai. Enjoy!
Best Thai food in the city. You'll find dishes here that are difficult to find at other Thai restaurants. Food is flavourful & of high quality. I highly recommend the salmon dish & going with the table d'hote. A bit on the pricier side but well worth it. The service & atmosphere are excellent!
Do you enjoy eating in an Asian restaurant with no chopsticks? Do you enjoy eating "authentic"food while listening to country music? Do you enjoy being surrounded by elderly white folk? Then this is the right restaurant for you!
Including all that was just mentioned, the biggest issue is the price point. This food should not be more than 11$ max for the "fancier"dishes. This is neither fine nor authentic cuisine, it's very Westernized. To be fair, the food is not bad, it's still got flavor, it's just very overpriced for what you're getting. This place confirms the #1 rule you should have in Montreal, never eat anywhere that has the words "authentic" or "fine" in the title.
The minute you walk into the restaurant you feel serene & are greeted by a graceful & smiling staff. Perfect ambiance to celebrate my daughter's 38th birthday. After intimate conversation over a bottle of great wine we were joined by others & the burst of flavor began with appetizers that delighted the senses & no words could describe the delicious dishes that followed. The evening was pure magic & I recommend Pick Thai to all those with exquisite taste. Thanks for making her birthday a wonderful memory.
A great surprise. From outside you never guess this restaurant has such nice decor, the ambiance is casual & elegant, good taste everywhere you look.
The wine list is fare, the menu attractive, the prices just. We went to Thailand a couple of years ago & tasting the food in the well proportioned dishes brought us back to the authentic flavors & atmosphere of that beautiful country.
The thing I would improve is the service. There should be at least one waiter in the area. It looked as if there was only the owner & a young man for all the tables.
You have to try it!
