Ouvert en 1971 par Giuseppe Lenti, Piazza Romana fut a l'origine un restaurant tres petit pouvant acceuillir selement 32 personnes. Ce dernier a ete joint plus tards par son frere, Sestino Odoardi et par la suite en 1988, son epouse, Maria prennait la releve du restaurant. En moins de cinq ans, le restaurant avail prit de l'expantion et il est devenue un des meilleurs restaurant de fine cuisine italienne. En fait, le Helen Rochester de la gazette l'a range parmi les 20 principaux restaurants. Bien que le restaurant a grandi au file du temps, la famile d"Odoardi continue d'offrir une ambiance chaleureuse qui est typique de la facon traditionnelle italienne.
Les retours sur Piazza Romana convergent vers une expérience italienne chaleureuse et conviviale, avec une ambiance cosy ou une belle terrasse selon le moment, un service attentif et globalement apprécié, et des plats variés qui plaisent par leur fraîcheur et leur saveur, les pizzas et les gnocchis recevant particulièrement les compliments; des portions généreuses et une rapidité du service sont souvent mentionnées, tout comme le cadre agréable en plein cœur du village, idéal pour des repas en famille ou des occasions comme des anniversaires; quelques regrets subsistent, notamment une soupe minestrone jugée décevante et des incohérences lorsque la salle est très occupée, des plats parfois jugés chers ou un choix de vins rouges limité; malgré ces bémols, l'ensemble des avis recommande Piazza Romana pour la qualité de la nourriture et l'atmosphère accueillante, faisant de cette adresse une valeur sûre pour ceux qui recherchent une vraie cuisine italienne bien exécutée.
Lovely Italian restaurant with excellent service. However, I was disappointed with the minestrone soup. Instead of the traditional hearty soup containing vegetables, beans, pasta, unfortunately it was a rather bland tomato broth with some cabbage. I didn't want to complain though, because everything else was wonderful.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Piazza Romana. Just skip the soup.
If you're looking for classic Italian dishes, this is the place to eat in the West Island. All the dishes we tried were simple, yet delicious. They are all made with fresh, quality ingredients & the portions are quite generous. Located in the charming Pointe-Claire Village, the restaurant has a cozy vibe & the staff are very welcoming. It's a great place for a family dinner or dinner with friends. It's also a good place to pop into on a weeknight after spending time shopping in the area.
I haven't been there in 4 or 5 years. In Pointe Claire Village. Always a nice atmosphere, fireplace, & in the summer you can take a lovely walk along the lakeshore by the water, & through the village. I had a Romana's pizza & some wine. Traditional, good, italian fare. Was very tasty. Good service, white tablecloths, all this makes a nice change, for a lunch destination.
Hadn't been at Pizza Romana in years. The place has changed to become a fantastic Italian restaurant that serves more than just Pizza. We had Pizza for sentimental reasons & the quality of the past was equally present in the now.
Piazza Romana is the most welcoming home style true Italian food & service & the restaurant is run by the most lovely family. Lovely ambiance, happy & long standing servers who take their craft seriously.. & the food.. what can I say at least as good as Nonna's!
I have been a customer for 25 years & will continue to be for at least another 25!

Me & my boyfriend were very hungry & he has eaten here before & raves about the food. So almost at closing time on a Thursday we were greeted by the hostess & the waiters were very friendly & helpful. The food was extremely fresh & tasty. I highly recommend the Fried Calamari with their house dipping sauce. The romantic atmosphere was great for us,like you are in a hot spot down in old port. Great Italian restaurant in the west island :) GRAZIE!!!
