Review Summary

Pho Viet is described as a tiny, charming family run spot in Montreal with a warm, convivial atmosphere and a bring your own wine policy that helps keep prices down. The menu is simple and very affordable, with soups, grilled dishes and crispy nems cha gio earning praise for flavor and freshness, and the pho and tonkinoise soup often highlighted as outstanding; portions are generous for the price. Service is repeatedly noted as warm, attentive, and personal, with many visitors feeling welcomed by the owner and staff in a cozy, intimate setting. The place is a neighborhood favorite on Atateken Street for its authentic Vietnamese cooking and homey vibe, though some remarks point to a small, noisy space and occasional language barriers, and a cash only policy that exists alongside some card acceptance. Overall, Pho Viet comes across as a dependable, welcoming option for comforting Vietnamese classics and strong value, beloved by locals for the authentic feel and consistent quality.
