Afficher toutpho(102) broth(30) roll(26) spring roll(24) soup(24) chicken(23) vietnamese(23) combo(19) recommend(15) generous(15) lunch(14) price(13)The broth for the soup was delicious. The main dish of chicken & beef with vermicelli noodles & salad was ok. The salad came with pickles lol which goes to show the influence of the clientele perhaps. (Should definitely be mentioned in the menu for those who don't like pickles) Ordered the fried banana & that was not at all at all good. Just a simple mushy flour battered over ripe banana with, get this, FAKE MAPLE TABLE SYRUP. I was really looking forward to a nice banana not a nasty over ripe banana , in tempura batter with warm honey & sesame seeds. Crunchy has to be honey!!
Food. Seemed fresh. Cooked properly. Poorly seasoned - lacked flavour on every dish eater except the won ton soup.
Service. Casual & young servers. Limited English & French. Knowledgeable on their product selection.
Atmosphere. Casual cosy. Beautiful ambient music was the highlight of this restaurant. The music made this place feel relaxing & calming. Big credit to management to select this style of music. Seating is table & banquets & menus are plasticized table mats.
I was eager to try this place as I've passed by here dozens of times at all hours & days & nights where they are typically busy. So I bright a group of foodies & some asians to delight in what I hoped would be authentic & a flavourful experience.
First off, this is not a traditional Vietnamese restaurant. This is somewhat of a fusion as well as (the waiter called it) a North American reinterpretation of Vietnamese cuisine.
The pricing is reasonable as well as the portions for the most part, with the exception of small appetizer wonton soup at $7.00.
Overall the food was exceptionally bland. When I say exceptionally & bland, I am not overstating this I am actually trying to heavily emphasize these this point as it was a serious bone of contention. The food is cooked without any passion, it's all mechanical like a processing line & when I peaked in the kitchen to observe how they function it too looked as if it was just a processing of dished being pushed out.
Basic cooking 101 is the chef must taste the food before serving to a customer. I can't imagine a Vietnamese person enjoying the food let alone recognize that this was a Vietnamese recipe as there was essentially no flavour - & don't get me started on the lack of an appetizing aroma. This was only a meal for two senses - your eyes & texture.
In addition to this point, the chicken with the noodles dish lacked sufficient sauce to blend the fried noodles & as such had to order additional sauce to moderately cover the noodles to soften then to an eatable status. Moreover, the portion of chicken was beyond small, when compared to the grilled chicken dish it was less than a third of the portion of chicken. It was also poorly cooked or the chicken was off because its texture was a bit stringy & a bit rubbery.
I sadly have to declare that this is not a proper Vietnamese restaurant as it's (lack of) seasoning & reinterpretation of dishes as well as adding dishes that are not Vietnamese (pad Thai as one example, wonton soup as another) do not fit the bill. Even in terms of the wonton soup, it's seasoning (the only dish that had some flavour), was nothing like a wonton nor were the wontons & as such, should not be named wonton soup. It was a bit of a letdown as I was expecting wonton soup. One can state that their dishes & recipes are reinvented or jacked up - sure, but if you're not communicating this on the menu & instead offering a dish with a recognized name & therefore taste profile, then a customer can be misguided & thus let down as I was.
So, I will not return nor recommend this place as I don't see its value proposition, its food satisfying, its expertise worth while having again.
There are too many competitors on & off the island of Montreal & I would prefer to risk trying a new place & hope to find a goodie than come back again & be let down terribly. The thought of even eating the food again makes me somewhat nausea.
I do not see how the rating of this place is above a 4 star as it does not posses the qualities of 4 star restaurants & struggles to achieve a 3 star rating.
I get this place is trying to make its mark in a somewhat unique manner, but idea & execution are two different things. As to explaining why this place seems so busy I expect it has to do with its location & lack of competition nearby. & the other likely due to people not knowing the food or having low expectations. I humbly suggest.
The portions are hefty & the prices are fair. But the service was so slow, maybe because they were short staffed, who knows. The food was so oily too, the pho had a layer of oil on the top & lacked flavor. The vermicelli was oozing in oil & the lemongrass in the chicken was so roughly cut that it was scratching my throat, so they gave alot of protein.
Went twice in a week. Tried the pho & a special chicken plate suggested by the waiter. Both were fantastic.
This place deserves all the stars it has.
Amazing Pho. The ambiance is very peaceful, there is lots of seating & seating is comfortable. Very nice service, highly recommend for an authentic Pho. We had the combo A chicken spring roll & beouf. & also tried the shrimp tempura. Also very affordable prices!
Honestly one of my favorite meals I've ever had in Montreal, & I love to eat out! Everything was cooked to the nines. I had a spicy chicken with lemongrass & it was so tender & tasty flavor combinations were amazing & Chef Anni is very obvious as kind as she is a great chef. Go here!!!
Just discovered this hidden gem; delicious home cooked nourishing, YUM!!! Generous portions, very affordable. & I got to re-experience the party in my mouth the following day with leftovers for lunch💕
It is run by a mom & 2 sisters Anni & Thy. Thy is a pastry chef, every week (around Tues, Wednesday?) she comes up with a new dessert of the week. She made a fabulous looking carrot cake for Valentine's Day that I was so excited to try..it must have been delicious because after a flavor explosion of

Bò Tái rau, (rare beef noodle soup with veggies) 😝🤪💕, I left the room for 2 minutes, come back to find that my 6year old & hubby had devoured the entire cake & I didn't get to taste🙃 Now I must go back every week until Thy decides to make that carrot cake again😅 I look forward to tasting all the other sweet creations in between! Thank you for nourishing us Ph? Anni!!
I'm OBSESSED with pho Anni! I've been going there at least once a week since November, & I think that will be my normal routine for the foreseeable future!
The food & service are amazing. I usually get the combo A, which is chicken or beef pho with a imperial roll, & it's honestly the best pho I've had in Montreal. I prefer pho on the saltier side, so this hits the spot!
The imperial rolls are very crunchy, & the service is very fast!
💛
This is a great place. Without a doubt the best spring roll Ive ever had. We'll balanced pho bouillon, excellent grilled chicken, proper spicy if you ask for it. Absolutely perfect place.. a gem next to the hospital.
Great service, fun ambiance but most importantly absolutely incredible pho. Broth is next level, the pho anni has so much delicious meat & chicken pho is incredible too. This family-owned spot is a gem
3 of us shared combo f & combo g. We had fried chicken dumplings & shrimp spring rolls as well. All the food was delicious & portions are huge! The pho soup (mini was part of combo) was the best we've ever had & next visit I'm ordering a full sized one! Finished off with the most yummy Vietnamese iced coffee! Friendly service as well.
Best Pho soup in Montreal hands down the chicken soup is wow service from owner is amazing she is so kind & accommodating.
The chicken with lemongrass was delicious. Small, quaint restaurant. Decent ambience. Very friendly service.
Delicious grilled chicken plate! Everything looked good, amazing staff & BYOB!
Pho Anni XL: 7/5 🤤 Freshly baked Bánh mì Chicken: 7/5 🤤 Cake of the week: pandan/coconut cake 7/5 🤤 Chef Anh & waiter Benoit are awesome!
Went to this new restaurant with family. All items fresh & tasty. My wife only eats chicken breast which is usually not available in Vietnamese restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised that in fact they served breast. Service was friendly & efficient . Seems all family members from waiters to kitchen. It was a very enjoyable evening with great food. I
Went to try this new restaurant yesterday. It is a very friendly place. Service was fast & efficient. The food is delicious. My kids had the pho soup & the broth was delicious my mom had a vermicelli & lemon grass chicken which was very tasty & I had a beef & chicken on rice. All dishes are generous in their portion. I have eaten at a few Vietnamese restaurants in NDG & for years Pho 88 on Decarie was a strong bench mark for excellence we now have a new king of the neighbourhood.
The Banh Mi's were made with fresh bread baked by the owner. We took the Xiu Mai & the chicken to try them as it was our first time there. The Xiu Mai is very flavorful! Loved it. We would have liked a bit more marinated carrots/radish but overall it was great. & very generous with the coriander which is our fav! For the chicken banh mi, I usually prefer eating savory chicken so this one I didn't like it as much, but anyone who likes sweeter chicken, this is for you! We liked our experience & will def go back to try out the other items & looking forward to the new menu items coming in fall 🍂
INCREDIBLE!!! our minds were blown by how delicious the stir fries (chicken & beef) were!! we had the combo G, & the imperial roll was huge & delicious, & the pho & wonton soups are amazing as well !! i feel like i've died & went to heaven, it was that good
(Edited to add menu pics) Went on opening day for lunch. The chicken pad thai was well done, plated nicely & came in a large portion. Service was attentive & easy going. The atmosphere seems adequate for a casual business lunch.
