Review Summary

Philinos consistently earns praise for its authentic and delicious Greek cuisine, with highlights including the charred octopus, lamb chops, and fresh chicken dishes. Many visitors commend the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the professional, attentive staff, making it a popular choice for both intimate date nights and large group celebrations. The establishment is recognized for its accessibility features and its BYOW policy, which adds value for guests. While the vast majority of feedback is highly positive, some diners have noted occasional challenges regarding noise levels, inconsistent service during peak hours, and specific pricing or menu concerns. Overall, the restaurant remains a highly recommended destination for those seeking a refined yet lively dining experience in the West Island.

We celebrated my husband's birthday at Philinos, & it was a wonderful experience from start to finish.
We had the group menu, & the food was absolutely delicious. There was a great variety of dishes, & everything was full of flavor. A true authentic Greek experience all around.

The ambience was warm & inviting, making it the perfect setting for a special celebration. The service was excellent throughout the evening, & the restaurant manager was incredibly accommodating, helping make the event run smoothly.

Thank you to Spiros & the entire team for making this milestone celebration so memorable. We highly recommend Philinos for both special occasions & a great dining experience.

Yes, it's noisy! We were there on a Saturday evening. Thank goodness we arrived at 5:30 & were nearly done by 7:30 because at that point we could not hear ourselves talk.
Food was good, a bit pricey considering portion size (no greek rice, 1 potato, very small entrées). Service was good but when we asked for a twist cap to recap the wine (wasn't left on the table) the server pulled a cork out of his pocket & stuffed it in the bottle (ick!). Will not go back.

Philinos has officially claimed the crown as the West Island's new premier dining destination. Bringing the legendary reputation of its Park Ave & Laval predecessors to Pointe-Claire, this spot perfectly blends upscale elegance with a lively, welcoming atmosphere.

?The menu is a masterclass in Mediterranean simplicity. The charred octopus is arguably the best in Montreal, & the crispy zucchini & eggplant towers with thick tzatziki are absolute non-negotiables for the table. Whether you're diving into their perfectly seasoned lamb chops or the buttery lemon potatoes, the quality of ingredients is evident in every bite. While the West Island has no shortage of Greek options, Philinos stands out by offering a more refined,'event-style' dining experience with impeccable service & a great wine list. If you're looking for the best meal on St-Jean Blvd right now, this is it just make sure to book a table in advance.

Picso from the Park Location 😁

Had a nice dinner tonight - food was good, & the portions were generous. We had the trio of spreads as an entree & moussaka as a main. The atmosphere was festive so sometimes it was a bit hard to talk to my partner but it was understandable considering the large party they were accommodating.
The prices to me were fine as it is a BYOW restaurant.
The one thing that bothered me was the Greek salad that accompanied the meal. It has a surcharge of 4 dollars compared to other salads. I guessed it was because of the price of feta & olives. In the end though, there were 2 olives & a couple of crumbs of feta & pretty much the equivalent of a whole red onion - which I left. Not was I expect from a Greek salad in a supposedly highly regarded Greek restaurant - especially with them charging extra. I told the waitress & showed her the pile of onion in my plate - but it was disregarded & I was charged the 4 dollars. That was disappointing & off putting.
