Great restaurant. It looks inconspicuous from the outside because of the lack of windows at eye level, but inside is a whole other dimension bathed in the Greek flag colours. The food was delicious. You can tell they use quality ingredients & pay attention to details. We had the broiled cod & the tomahawk pork. Everything was fresh & perfectly cooked. The service was quick, the staff attentive & the ambiance was lovely. Our waiter, Marino, was a lot of fun & made us feel right at home. Thank you Marino! We've been to many Greek restaurants in Montreal, Petros is top tier but not pretentious. This isn't your gyro pita & fries joint with tzatziki slathered everywhere. This is Greek & mediterranean cuisine refined & a reminder that it's way more than just pork souvlaki & pita sandwiches. Definitely recommend.
Another fabulous meal at Petros Griffintown made even better & so wonderful by our favourite & most attentive server, Marino! The small Greek salad for two was so fresh & delicious, & our mains of Porgy & Mediterranean sea bass with fresh veg & potato side dishes, were both generous & simply superb!
Besides all the wonderful food & great service, the ambiance was as always, truly warm & romantic!
Undoubtedly, it's the best Greek food in town! Amazing quality for value. The BYOB is an added great bonus! Looking forward to our next visit ! 😁
I had heard so many great things about Petros in Griffintown that I arrived with fairly high expectations. I'm happy to say the experience not only met them - it exceeded them.
From the moment we sat down, everything about the evening felt thoughtfully executed. The cuisine is authentic Greek & Mediterranean, prepared with a refined, high-end touch. Every dish showcased remarkable freshness & balance. The appetizers were beautifully presented & full of flavor, the salad was vibrant & perfectly seasoned, & the highlight of the evening - the grilled fish - was absolutely outstanding. It was cooked to perfection & truly memorable.
Service also deserves special mention. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, & gracious throughout the meal, offering thoughtful recommendations & making the entire experience feel relaxed & welcoming.
Another great advantage is that the restaurant is bring-your-own-wine, which adds a wonderful level of flexibility & enjoyment to the evening.
Petros delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. I will absolutely be returning & would highly recommend it to anyone looking for outstanding Mediterranean cuisine in Montreal.
It was an amazing experience & I will definitely be back! The food was authentic & delicious & the best Greek food I've had in Montreal! But the highlight of our night was Marinos hospitality !! Made our night very special :)
Marino was our waiter. This is only positive thing here. He is attentive & listen. He is abit in your face but in a charming fun way. I liked it.
The food, quite disappointed in the price but most certainly the quality. When you pride yourself in having such great Greek food you need to have standard..
The kopinisti was so salty due to the lower class feta used.
The Greek salad, the tomatoes were soggy & old with some kind of extra creamy'feta'. Quite displeasing. For a fine Greek restaurant you cannot lower the standard so much on tomatoes & feta
The meat tastes old & completely under spiced. The Lamb chops were ok. There was no lemon to add to our meat.
The bread was stale & old. This was a first for me to be served stale bread.
Take away everything Greek in the food & then server is as Greek food at a premium price
We asked for the manager to explain to him our thought but it seemed he had left.
I write this review so people can know & hopeful management listens & fixes their menu. It's a shame cause the decor & ambiance is good.

We made last minute reservations for dinner to this place & it was a great experience ! The restaurant is so well lit & makes you feel you are really in a Greek town thanks to the walls & the decor ❤? For appetizers, they gave us incredible bread with olive oil/vinegar & we ordered the Spanakopita which was so delicious ❤? For the main meal, I had the Surf & Turf (2 lamb chops & 2 shrimp) that came with Greek-style Potatoes & Vegetables of the Day while my partner had Moussaka & each bite was a gourmet's delight 😍❤? The service was fast & very kind in asking us if we liked the food frequently. Highly recommend this 11/10 Greek restaurant to everyone who loves great food, ambience, & the hospitality & we cannot wait to try other items on the menu on our subsequent visits 😊 UPDATE: Had Greek salad, tzatziki pita spread, filet mignon brochette , & chicken brochette & very delicious as ever ❤? MORE UPDATES: Went for dinner & had the amazing Petros special (thinly breaded eggplant & zucchini with tzatziki), broiled cod, & Giovetsi (lamb shank) & really wow ❤?❤? A wonderful 11/10 venue with great food & fantastic service
Wonderful place: atmosphere is amazing, service was perfect, & of course the food was delicious! Marino's hospitality was very Greek, just how everyone likes it! Would definitely recommend the original Petros restaurant in Griffintown!
For starters, we ordered grilled sardines, calamari, & tzatziki.
We received three sardines; personally, I found them not grilled enough & quite difficult to eat. The calamari were also not fried enough - very light in color, without the nice golden finish one would expect. The taste was acceptable but nothing special. As for the tzatziki, frankly, I found that the one from Costco tastes better.
For the main course, we ordered loup de mer & dorade. Both fish were well cooked; however, the side dishes were disappointing. The rice (similar to Uncle Ben's), the Greek potatoes lacking typical Greek herbs, & the barely grilled broccoli with sunflower seeds did not give us the impression of eating Greek cuisine. I have been to Greece three times, so I have some reference in this regard.
The espresso was very good. Dessert was offered by our waiter, Omarino, who truly did his best to make us happy. There is absolutely no complaint regarding the service - it was welcoming, attentive, & pleasant.
What was most disappointing was the final bill of $194 for what we felt was only average food. Considering that it is a bring-your-own-wine restaurant, nearly $200 for two fish dishes felt excessive to us. In our opinion, the price does not justify the quality. My husband & I do not mind paying more for a meal, but the quality must reflect the price, which we felt was not the case here.
Additionally, the bathrooms are in need of a significant upgrade.
Once again, the welcome & service were very nice, but overall, the experience did not meet our expectations given the cost.
Wow - super impressed by this Greek restaurant! We had an excellent experience thanks to Marino. We especially recommend the Petros Special appetizer, so delicious.

Where do I start… exceptional experience very warm & welcoming atmosphere, friendly accommodating & delicious authentic Greek food. Alex made it absolutely amazing. Strongly recommended!
Petros in Griffintown is a great-looking place-nice decor, chill vibe, definitely a good spot to sit down & feel a little fancy.
We ordered a few appetizers: the grilled calamari was amazing, the Greek salad was fresh, the fried zucchini was okay, & the sardines were… just there. Tasty overall, but the prices for apps were way too high.
For mains, we got the lamb chops & the chicken. The waiter hyped the lamb like it was life-changing-it wasn't. Dry & underwhelming. The chicken, on the other hand, was the star of the night-juicy & full of flavour. Fries? Soggy & sad.
All in all, Petros has great atmosphere & a few hits on the menu, but it's a mixed bag. I'd go back but not for the lamb chops & the fries.
Service was good overall, the waiters are easy & attentive. Felt like we aged a bit waiting for the mains.
This was our first time trying out authentic Greek food & it definitely exceeded our expectations. Our waiter Marino was very nice & attentive; he gave us great recommendations. The seafood & appetizers were especially good. He even gave us complementary Greek dessert! Thank you so much Marino, we will be back!

We had an amazing dining experience at Petros Griffintown! From the moment we arrived, the service was warm & attentive thanks to our waiter Marino, who was absolutely fantastic. He was friendly, & made us feel so welcome throughout the meal. We ordered the moussaka & the pikilia platter, & both were incredible.
Highly recommend this spot for authentic Greek food, great ambiance, & top-notch service. Ask for Marino if you can-he really made the night special!
Delicious food, great service, Marino had us laughing all evening & made us feel at home & comfortable. Highly recommend for a sit in family style eatery, high ceilings, spacious dining room, & Greek color theme & decorations make for a lovely dining atmosphere.
We brought our Greek friends here & had an amazing experience! From perfectly executed flaming saganaki to a giant flavourful Greek salad to deliciously fried calamari to wonderfully grilled fish, our charismatic server Marino made the evening! We'll be back.
