About

Peking Garden Restaurant provides a specialized menu focused on traditional Chinese techniques integrated with various grill and seafood preparations. Patrons find a selection of plates emphasizing seasoned wok-tossed meats, fresh aquatic ingredients, and signature sauces prepared for high-heat searing. The culinary approach centers on balancing savory textures with aromatic spices to deliver distinct flavor profiles across every dish served. The interior features a functional layout designed to accommodate varied group sizes seeking a straightforward dining environment. Each plate arrives showcasing consistent cooking methods applied to standardized poultry, beef, and crustacean selections. The menu avoids complex fusion experimentation in favor of classic regional influences that define this specific approach to coastal and inland culinary traditions. This establishment maintains a focus on ingredient quality and consistent preparation standards.

Review Summary

Peking Garden Restaurant receives mixed feedback regarding its consistency and atmosphere, though many patrons praise the large portions, fresh flavors, and friendly service. While some guests highlight the delicious Cantonese dishes and accommodating staff, others report concerns about the aging dining room, fluctuating food quality, and occasional cleanliness issues. Despite varied experiences, many visitors appreciate the reasonable pricing and value, making it a frequent choice for family groups looking for a casual meal.

My family has been going to this restaurant for over 30 years since first moving to DDO from LaSalle (I am 38 now with my own family of 4) & it has been the quality & quantity of the food (as well as the friendly staff) that has kept us going back. The dishes pictured are Black Pepper Chicken (old style),Chili Beef with shredded carrots & scallions & Fried Fish with Black Bean Sauce. The chef is still the same from 30 years & although the owners & wait staff have changed, there is no need to concern oneself with worry about the quality of the food; it is still EXCELLENT! I cannot comment on the wait staff but the new owners (especially the wife) are kind enough, as I've only done takeout orders since ownership of the restaurant changed years ago. Also, takeout orders get a 10% discount 😁

We got a combo, we change the spareribs for general chicken, & we change the chicken chow main for vegetable noodles.
Honestly everything was really good, the vegetable noodles had hard over cooked noodles in it, but I found it gave a nice taste & crunch, but my husband didn't like that.
The general tao chicken was amazing, the pineapple chicken was so fluffy & delicious. The chicken fried rice was soooooo tasty! The wonton soup was so warm & delicious it really hit the spot for this cool weather. & the egg rolls were juicy & yummy, over all, it was amazing!
The only downside is the restaurant was cold, we did go at 8pm, so we were the only clients there, we kept our jackets on… but the food kept us warm!
The service was fast, & everyone was very nice! Will definitely come back!

If I can give less stars, I would!!!!! Do not order from here. It was an Uber eats order, I waited an 1:20 just to throw this food in the garbage. The Cantonese seafood noodles tasted stale & the shrimp was mushy & disgusting. The hot & sour soup had a weird taste like dirty water. The General Tao chicken was mostly soggy dough with barely any meat. Eating here will make you sick or have the belly runs so I highly do not recommend it!!!

Went there a few times. The lunch special is probably the best choice. If you buy a la carte it is way more expenssive. Food taste ok but i definitely had better. Got a chicken fried rice with 1 gram of chicken yes you got that right. ONE gram. Other recipes are ok just so expenssive these days. Definitely better locations in montreal.
