Review Summary

Reviews of Peking Garden Restaurant show a mix of experiences, with many diners praising good Cantonese food, large portions, and friendly, accommodating staff who will modify dishes and serve meals piping hot. The lunch special is often highlighted as a great value, while some note that the a la carte options can be expensive and not always worth it. The dining room is described as a family friendly space that feels a bit dated but remains enjoyable, with dumplings and peanut butter sauce among the popular picks. There are negative notes about a rude young server and a rat issue during visits, and a few dishes such as General Tao chicken are described as disappointing, while others feel the overall Chinese options are not very strong compared to Montreal. Despite the mixed opinions, many families have made this a long standing staple, citing childhood memories, repeated visits, and a sense that the restaurant provides reliable flavor, generous portions, and a welcoming vibe even as views vary. Some still consider it among the best Chinese options in Montreal, while others see it as good everyday Cantonese.

We got a combo, we change the spareribs for general chicken, & we change the chicken chow main for vegetable noodles.
Honestly everything was really good, the vegetable noodles had hard over cooked noodles in it, but I found it gave a nice taste & crunch, but my husband didn't like that.
The general tao chicken was amazing, the pineapple chicken was so fluffy & delicious. The chicken fried rice was soooooo tasty! The wonton soup was so warm & delicious it really hit the spot for this cool weather. & the egg rolls were juicy & yummy, over all, it was amazing!
The only downside is the restaurant was cold, we did go at 8pm, so we were the only clients there, we kept our jackets on… but the food kept us warm!
The service was fast, & everyone was very nice! Will definitely come back!

If I can give less stars, I would!!!!! Do not order from here. It was an Uber eats order, I waited an 1:20 just to throw this food in the garbage. The Cantonese seafood noodles tasted stale & the shrimp was mushy & disgusting. The hot & sour soup had a weird taste like dirty water. The General Tao chicken was mostly soggy dough with barely any meat. Eating here will make you sick or have the belly runs so I highly do not recommend it!!!

Went there a few times. The lunch special is probably the best choice. If you buy a la carte it is way more expenssive. Food taste ok but i definitely had better. Got a chicken fried rice with 1 gram of chicken yes you got that right. ONE gram. Other recipes are ok just so expenssive these days. Definitely better locations in montreal.
