Patty's Slap, nestled in the heart of Montreal, offers an intriguing take on the classic burger experience. With a focus on quality ingredients & innovative twists, it's garnered attention among locals & visitors alike. Let's start with the star of the show: the burgers. Served in a pretzel bun, Patty's Slap offers a selection that's sure to satisfy any palate. While they may not redefine the burger landscape, they certainly hold their own with well-cooked patties & fresh, flavorful toppings. The choice of a brioche/ pretzel bun adds a touch of indulgence, elevating the overall dining experience. Now, onto the fries. Unlike the standard thick-cut fries found at many burger joints, Patty's Slap opts for thinly cut fries. This departure from the norm provides a delightful crunch & allows for a more even distribution of seasoning. It's a small but noteworthy detail that sets them apart from the competition. Of course, no burger experience is complete without the perfect dipping sauce, & Patty's Slap doesn't disappoint in this department either. Offering a variety of options, from classic ketchup to more adventurous choices, like the truffle sauce, there's something to please every palate. The truffle sauce, in particular, stands out as a crowd favorite, with its rich, earthy flavor complementing the burgers & fries impeccably. The poutine was also nice, the gravy had a familiar taste & the cheese portion was generous. In conclusion, Patty's Slap may not reinvent the wheel when it comes to burgers, but it offers a solid dining experience with attention to detail & a few surprises along the way. Whether you're a local looking for a new favorite spot or a visitor eager to sample Montreal's culinary delights, Patty's Slap is worth a visit.
Gourmet burger joints have been a bit of a trend in recent years so it takes a lot to stand out. Patty Slaps is being carried more by it's strong branding & marketing than anything else, but that's not to say that they aren't making some amazing burgers. Plenty of seating available with a well-designed interior. The burgers are pre-customized to an almost scientific degree. This is an expensive burger place as far as casual dining goes. Wait times can be long as well. My one pain about this place is that for how much you have to pay & for how long you have to wait - the burgers are pretty compact.
