This is an updated review added a year later. I regret that I have to lower my 5-star rating to 3 stars. Honestly, I considered giving 2 stars, but the bread & pastries are still delicious, & the rest of the staff haven't made any mistakes, so I decided on 3 stars. As a loyal customer who has frequented this shop for over a year, regularly buying cakes, sandwiches, coffee, & baguettes, what happened today really hurt me & made me realize how much the service has deteriorated.

Today, I bought a baguette & asked them to slice it. In the past, employees would take the baguette to a professional kitchen/cutting board area on the other side to prep it before putting it into the bread slicer. Today, this employee sliced the bread directly on a counter piled with personal belongings, handbags, iPads, phones, account books, & power cords. It was extremely unhygienic, but I still decided to buy it.

I kindly reminded her that handling the bread in the designated area next time would feel much cleaner. Instead of taking the feedback, she kept insisting that the counter was sanitized daily. But with so many personal items sitting right there, how could anyone feel it's hygienic? She then offered to remake it, but I told her,'It's fine, I'm in a rush. I'm just letting you know for next time that doing it over there would feel cleaner.' She got visibly upset.

To make matters worse, she took my cash payment without taking off her gloves. Since the gloves she was wearing weren't new, I assumed they were meant for handling food. I asked,'Shouldn't you take off your gloves?' She snapped,'I'm going to throw them away,' & slammed the cash register shut with a terrible attitude.

The staff just kept arguing that everything was clean. If they had simply said,'We'll be more careful next time,' the whole issue would have been resolved immediately. Given such poor service & attitude, I will not be coming back. Sorry, but there are plenty of choices around here, & you are not the only option.

I've worked in this area for many years, but last week was my first time visiting this bakery, thanks to a friend's recommendation. It was delicious! I've since been back several times to try different breads, & they were all amazing. I highly recommend it!
The one I circled in the picture is my favorite.

Dommage.

Credit for successfully executing creative flavors, but they refrigerate their natas so it's impossible to enjoy them unless you take them home.
