Overall, Pâtisserie Mahrouse draws praise for fresh, flavorful Middle Eastern sweets, especially knafeh and baklava, with reviewers calling the pastries authentic, well made and generously varied, and the downtown location a welcome convenience that saves a long drive. The atmosphere is often described as beautiful and inviting, with warm, attentive staff that make guests feel at home, though a few visits note uneven attention during busy times and one comment about certain desserts being drier than usual. Quality and flavor are repeatedly affirmed, and the assortment of traditional treats such as maamoul, nammoura and halawet jebne is highlighted along with the option to sample items and the pairing of coffee, cardamom Arabic coffee or Turkish coffee. Prices are sometimes described as on the higher side but justified by freshness and ingredients, with some criticism about limited availability of individual pieces at certain hours and the occasional use of disposable containers that detracted from the dining experience. Still, the consensus is that the patisserie is a standout in its category, offering superb pastries, a charming decor and consistently strong service that keeps customers returning.

I haven't been to my home country in over 20 years & the sweets here remind me of home. The sweets are amazing & taste amazing. Open one in New York City please 🙏
This place is great to come for original Syrian sweet. Atmosphere is so clean & friendly everyone is willing to help you with anything you need. The taste is exactly how it would be from Syria. We hope they will open another location in New York City. 🙏🏽
Want to get a taste of Istanbul without going there? This is your stop. Get their house made beaten icecream (yes, THAT Turkish icecream where they beat the air out of it to make it high density) called ice cream kashta, sprinkle it with pistachios, & enjoy! Accessible parking, palatial atmosphere, & luxurious desserts. All their baklava is sprinkled with orange blossom flour, & you must try their Ben Naren (cream cheese filled pastry) also called kunafa. The grandma there is awesome 😎
