Mahrouseh is truly a gem. From the moment you step inside, you are transported to another time & place. The oriental décor is absolutely mind-blowing-filled with beautiful antique pieces that instantly remind you of an old Damascene house, complete with a charming fountain in the middle. The atmosphere alone is worth the visit.
As for the desserts, the selection is outstanding. They offer a wide variety of traditional Arabic/Eastern desserts as well as Western options, all prepared with exceptional quality & care. The taste is simply amazing. I ordered Halawet El Jibn, a very traditional Syrian dessert made from semolina, cheese, blossom water, & syrup topped with crushed pistachios-& it was perfection. They also serve Kunafeh & many, many other delicious desserts that are hard to resist.
The staff are incredibly friendly & welcoming, which adds even more to the experience. I even asked why they don't open a new branch in BC, & the answer truly impressed me. They explained that maintaining the highest quality is their top priority, & they refuse to compromise by sending their chefs elsewhere-even though they receive requests to open branches in many major cities across the USA & Canada.
That level of dedication says everything. I'm very pleased to have visited Mahrouseh, & it's a place I would happily return to again & again. Highly recommended!
Hands down the best'Mabroumeh B Festok' I have ever had in many many years. The best Syrian sweets store in Canada for sure.
A good place & has varieties of oriental sweets & Arabic ice cream, but what is striking is the old Syrian oriental decoration, which is beautiful & wonderful.
Posted hours on Google & TripAdvisor defaults to the original location which opens at 9AM. However, at the downtown location on Rue Montagne the working hours begin at 11AM daily & not 9 AM. Several people came by in the morning mistaking the hours listed for the original location on Acadie for the downtown location. They are definitely worth the wait but may be losing new customers.
As far as the quality of service & of the desserts this Syrian sweets place is hands-down the best! Such a treat to visit here!
If you're craving authentic Syrian pastries, this place is a hidden gem. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm smile & exceptional service-something that feels natural & genuine in every good Syrian spot. The shop is spotless & well-organized, which adds to the overall great experience.
Yes, the prices are a bit on the higher side, but you get what you pay for: quality. The pastries are absolutely delicious, freshly made, & packed with rich, traditional flavors. This is where you come when you want the good stuff-treats that actually taste like home.
Highly recommended if you're looking for a clean, welcoming place with top-tier Syrian delights.
I recently visited this charming patisserie known for its authentic Syrian flavors, & it did not disappoint! The variety of desserts was impressive, each bursting with rich, traditional taste. Their coffee was a standout-unique, aromatic, & absolutely delightful. A must-visit for anyone looking to experience the perfect blend of Syrian desserts & exceptional coffee. Highly recommended!
The closest to home. I pick up boxes of Syrian desserts for myself & as gifts every time I visit Montreal. They keep the ingredients & quality fresh & on point. So far I highly recommend this place for authentic desserts.
Absolutely incredible patisserie & desserts shop run by Syrians in Montréal. Stopped by here while our breakfast was being prepared nearby & picked up some kenafeh made with sweet cream. It was delicious beyond compare, everyone should drop by here at least once if they're nearby.
Tasty Syrian sweets & French pastries. Good serivce, hygienic & clean place.
This is hands down the best Syrian pâtisserie in Montréal. I'm Syrian, but live in the States & I was blown away when I tried the different pastries. During my 6 days in Montréal, I visited Mahrouse 4 times. Both locations are amazing! Also, the service is top notch, & the decoration is so elegant & beautiful. ♥️
This is a gem of a place for authentic Syrian sweets. After tasting the Knafeh here with a cup of mint tea, I was in seventh heaven. I am s o glad that this place is far from where I live as otherwise I would be tempted all the time. The staff are welcoming & put up with all my questions about the various delicacies on offer.
Two locations, both are fantastic. Authentic Syrian/ lebanese desserts & sweets. Wow. The place is fancy. Metal engraved tables. Gold plates plastic cutlery. WC is super clean & modern (powered trash can lid). & the sweets are amazing. You will need a local guide to explain them all. Parking at the suburb location is very gratis. The city location, of course not. You must try the ice cream. Elastic & super tasty. I can not describe it. Just try it.
The best place ever to eat Syrian or let's middle East sweets. I do recommend it.
This place is great to come for original Syrian sweet. Atmosphere is so clean & friendly everyone is willing to help you with anything you need. The taste is exactly how it would be from Syria. We hope they will open another location in New York City. 🙏🏽
Nice place, cozy, elegant. Sweet are the best syrian sweets in Montreal. Nice to have sweety breakfast with kenefa & Turkish coffee ☺️
