Went for the first time to get food. The barista was very nice & she helped choose a panini. The prosciutto panini was very good.
However I overheard a conversation between two men in the kitchen that was very disturbing. One said he would not fire an employee so as to not have to give them the gratification of getting severance pay (his words!) but that he would HARASS the employee until they quit. What kind of restaurant treats their employees that way?? If this guy is the manager, shame on the owners. I'll never go back because of that. Do better. Be better.
This place is EXACTLY what we hope look for when we're on vacation: A casual, non-pretentious place with food that is absolutely delicious! I enjoyed the charcuterie Panino & my wife had a Porchetta panino. Both were literally the best paninis we've had in North America & much of Italy. They both featured a special'relish' (for lack of a better word) that was a mix of lettuce, peppers pearl onions & exquisite seasoning. I wish I could have that on every sandwich I eat - forever! The mixtures is both exceptionally tasty & a bit spicy. When I took my first bite it was like a party in my mouth! I knew almost immediately that it was one of the best sandwiches that I'd ever had. Then my wife gave me a bite of her porchetta panino & THAT was even better. The seasoning on that pork just exploded my taste buds… & I'm not even a big fan of pork. One of the keys to the greatness of these sandwiches is the amazing bread. It has a perfect combination of a delicious, delicate center with a perfect, gourmet-crunchy crust. Not too hard or thick, but just right for marrying with the perfection of the ingredients.
Not to be outdone were the staff! They were all every bit as wonderful as the food, & so welcoming & helpful. My wife & I truly can't recommend the Parma Café enough. They served us a meal that we kept reflecting on with great fondness the rest of our trip. In fact, there is a very famous deli in Montreal called Schwartz's which is known around the world for its amazing sandwiches. We ate there the day before & it was, indeed, good , but if I had to choose between the two, I'd eat at Parma Café hands down every time. Enjoy.
I think it's a genuine & decent gesture that they offer free meals for their members. I had this delicious panini today. I totally recommend this place.
I just got their panini of the month (fried chicken, bacon, jam & peanut butter). It was AWESOME. There's a lot of fillings, contrary to many other expensive sandwich places where the sandwich taste more of bread that what's supposed to be in the fillings. & also, the bread quality at Parma is very good. & very decent price for the quantity, we don't feel too much screwed up as a consumer - which is the case for many other restaurants who charge very high but for very few ingredients.
The waitress was very busy with many customers (no wonder considering this is a very good cafe) but she took the time to acknowledge me while taking care of all the orders behind the counter & she was very nice.
Came here for a coffee but ended up ordering a steak panini & wow! Can't say enough about how amazing it is. We ended up ordering another panini sandwich & it was just as good. Will definitely be coming back & you should to, you will not regret it!!
Loved their paninis & service. Samantha was serving me & she was super nice! She gave us an extra cup of hot chocolate on the house & amazing suggestions on vegetarian sandwiches.
Arrived around opening hour & staff already seemed incredibly busy fulfilling online orders. Unfortunately, I waited over 5 minutes to get my order taken (there was no line) & over 20 minutes to get my panini. Atmosphere felt chaotic with some of the staff members yelling at each other. I originally planned on doing some work at the cafe but the environment did not feel welcoming. Otherwise, the panini was tasty & the portion size was generous. Perhaps I dropped in at the wrong time!
The steak panini is delicious! I highly recommend trying it, the bread is crispy, the meat is tender, it's flavourful & easy to bite down. All around fantastic sandwich. On the other hand, it should be illegal to charge 5.75$ for a 14oz latte made with an automatic espresso machine. The price of latte is justified by the craft, care & intention put into the cup. This coffee was not it at all.
