I would strongly recommend staying away from Pappou Souvlaki.
I placed a takeout order an hour & a half in advance, yet the order was still about 25 minutes late. That was already disappointing, but the bigger issue was the food preparation.
When I arrived, I noticed that the chicken souvlaki was being reheated in the microwave. I asked the owner about it, & his response was that he'had no choice.' There was no apology & no concern, as if serving microwaved chicken at a restaurant is normal.
One of the staff members even commented that he microwaves food at home as well. But that's exactly the point - people go to restaurants expecting freshly prepared food, not something reheated in a microwave.
If I wanted microwaved chicken, I could easily do that at home & save the money.
Between the delay, the microwaved food, & the lack of acknowledgment from the owner, the experience was very disappointing. See the videos showing how the food was reheated.
The food was so amazing, very saucy & well cooked! The person who served us, explained to us by detail the difference between the salads, chicken & more. Quite nice of him.

I read the reviews & the place seemed like it served good food however... When I brought our order home, it was another story.
The rice tasted as if it had been microwaved, the potatoes cold...chicken was dry. The only thing that was decent was the salad. I will not be returning...
Wanted souvlaki & a quick supper. Went to Pappou souvlaki. We were nicely greeted, & they do have a couple of booth so you can dine-in. It is mostly a take-out restaurant, but having the seats was nice. Had the small Gyros platter & my boyfriend the chicken souvlaki pottar combo. Both were very good. Service was nice, & we even had a course of the rule of cricket as it was what was shown on TV, & we had no idea how the game rules were. Our waiter took the time to explain it to us. Will go back for sure.
My photo doesn't do this place or its food justice. Quantity matches quality which is EXCELLENT! If you're looking for some excellent, FRESH & authentic made Greek food, *this* is your place! The people working here are equally AWESOME & I will be returning here as a regular 🤩👍👍
Update: going on to 3 years coming here, I don't know what some of the recent negative reviews are about, but Ahmad always takes care of his customers & *every* time I order, it's SUPERB. Thanks as always my friend! 😊👍 My only recent regret is I forgot to get some chicken gyro meat on the side 😋 Now I have an excuse to come back sooner for it
Showed up with wife 10 minutes before closing not knowing their hours. They sparked up the fire without any issues & provided us with amazing chicken gyros. Great service & delicious food!!!
Excellent food, I had the chicken stick pitas & fries, very delicious Greek Canadian fast food. I'm looking forward to trying the authentic Greek salad!

Papou Souvlaki truly delivers perfection with their Chicken Gyro Platter! The chicken was tender, perfectly seasoned, & grilled to juicy perfection, balancing a smoky char with bold Mediterranean flavors. The warm, pillowy pita & creamy tzatziki were the perfect complements, while the fresh veggies added a crisp, refreshing touch. The portion size was generous but not overwhelming-definitely worth every penny. Every bite was a burst of flavor, & you can tell they take pride in their ingredients & preparation. If you're craving authentic Greek food, this dish is a must-try! Papou Souvlaki is a gem.
Meat was amazing, lamb, beef, & chicken included! However, everything else was mediocre, fries were stale & bland, rice was dry & tasteless, & salad was lackluster. However, the main reason for my very low review was because of my dine-in experience. When my Mom & I asked for water we were told that they have no cups so they cannot serve us water. The person working then said you can buy water bottles to which I politely replied that the water should be free because they are not providing any other option. The person working was pretty rude & emotionless about it, stating that they are mainly a take out resto so they don't have cups. Regardless, if you have tables & seating, offer dine in, I'm pretty sure having free water is mandatory, but I'm willing to be corrected. Aside from the meat, because of everything else, I would not come again, especially when for the same price you can get bigger portions & higher quality overall from other spots in the west island. Lastly, the place reeked of cleaning products while somehow not being very clean at the same time.
Did an uber order for kids & me. Chicken, bread, fries all very good tasting. Person called to confirm order & was very kind & put cheese on the side which was much appreciated & didn't put onions in the salad. Thank you! Removed a star because there was too much salt on the rice. We couldn't eat the rice due to the excess salt.
Had an amazing experience & I will be coming back all the time. I love my chicken souvlaki sandwich with the Taziki. It taste so good. I totally recommend even people who are vegan. They have vegan sandwich.

There are a lot of great Greek restaurants in Montreal, but I think this might be the best one right now. Even when you order something super simple like a Chicken Stick, it's absolutely delicious & very filling, compared to almost all other Greek places. All of their meats are amazing, fries are amazing. It's clear this place does not cheap out on anything, very high quality. P.S: To the person who left a 1-star review because the in store payment asks if you want to leave a tip (which you can just choose $0), welcome to 2024, that's everywhere, & it's software based. You should edit your review as you said you found the food so delicious, yet you gave 1-star for a completely bogus reason based on your lack of understanding.
We were going to eat there but got there & the air conditioning was broken, so we did take out. The food was amazing. Fries were crispy, salad was delicious & the chicken gyro, beef gyro & the chicken sticks were great. Definitely going back!
The chicken pita is amazing , chicken is tinder & love that the taziki isnt to garlicy. The lamb chops are amazing very tender . The calimaris the flavor was there but they werent crispy enough was missing the crunch. Hope you guys add the greek potatoes & the fries with feta on your menu. Would try again .
We have dined at your competitors, however we were told how wonderful your food was. We tried it this evening as takeout, & we were very pleased. Everything was delicious. The lamb chops, chicken & beef skewers were moist, tender & very tasty. Tzatziki was absolutely fabulous. Sides were delicious. Thank you.
