Pangea is a joke. The food is overpriced & bland, the place is filthy, & the service is beyond slow. I waited forever just to get a drink, & when the food finally came, it was obvious they'd spent the bare minimum on ingredients - my $30 cheese plate was literally grocery-store cheese & some burnt pita. What's worse is hearing about how the owner, Morris, treats his own employees. Word around the city is that he's been taking money owed to staff & spending it on things like snacks for himself. Doritos, really? How is anyone supposed to support a place like this? Absolutely shameful. Save your money & go somewhere that respects both customers & staff."
I rarely write reviews, but my experience at Pangea was just awful. First off, I waited almost 30 minutes before anyone even acknowledged I was there, & when I finally got my food, it was embarrassingly low-quality for the price. The'Pangea plate' was literally something I could've thrown together with a quick trip to the grocery store. The restaurant itself was in bad shape - dirty floors, dusty tables, & don't even get me started on the state of the washrooms. It felt like cleanliness is just not a priority here. Staff seemed completely checked out, & no one seemed to care if customers were satisfied. I'd hoped for a unique experience in the Old Port, but this was just a tourist trap with terrible service & low-quality food. Definitely not worth the time or money."
We went to Montreal for the weekend & wanted to dine in with friends at Pangea, the place was cute, music a little bit too loud! The service was nice but somewhat slow, even though it wasn't busy that night. Drinks were good & strong, the food was 50/50, the starters were tasteless, we had salmon tartare, & the roasted cauliflower, it was dry & lacking seasoning. As mains dishes we had mainly red meat, the dishes were not brought at the same time, so we had to wait for our friends to get their plates so we can eat.... Overall a little bit disappointed, we had high expectations unfortunately for this place.
