The quality of the food was alright. The bechamel sauce was cold by the time it got to the table & the seafood was a bit overcooked. After ordering, our drinks came after 25 & the food came another 20 minutes after that. After our plates were picked up by another waiter, the waitress spent the better part of the 20 minutes talking it up to her colleague before going to see another table & passing the buck to another colleague to take the bill, because she knew the service was bad. In the end it's a tourist trap. It's darned shame too, because the concept of a seafood brunch is cool. The breakfast cocktails were really good.
went a couple of times. great seafood (very nice selection of oysters) for reasonable price, great relaxed vibe.. looking forward to yry their brunch!
We stopped at Palomar at Marché Jean-Talon for a weekday lunch in mid-June 2024. Hands down it was the best restaurant meal of our four-day visit to Montreal. The food was absolutely delicious! We started with a dozen Canadian oysters, mostly from Nova Scotia. They were freshly & neatly shucked. Then we shared a fish charcuterie board consisting of gravlax & a couple of dry-cured tuna dishes. Highly recommended, top-quality fish at a very fair price!
Very slow service. Resto wasn't full, maybe 5 tables in all & yet it took over 40mins to get 1 benedict, 1 crab salad, & 1 lobster roll. Portions are extremely small & tasteless. Food needs more flavoring. Even when wanted to pay the bill I had to get up to get the attention of a staff member. Bill was 135, I paid 160 but I'll never go again. I think it's way overrated
