Review Summary

Palais Maharaja Palace is described as a place with delicious, well-balanced Indian dishes, fresh ingredients and good presentation, with standout butter chicken, paneer, lamb curries, chaat and a popular mango lassi, plus excellent naan and rice. Reviewers highlight a warm, authentic ambiance and friendly, attentive service, and note prices as affordable with generous portions. The overall sentiment is highly positive, with many calling it a must visit and some returning for takeout. A few comments point to inconsistencies such as very high spice levels on occasion or sauces not meeting expectations, and occasional language barriers with staff who do not speak French, which some diners found disappointing. Delivery experiences are mentioned as well, sometimes smooth and other times less reliable, but when orders arrive correctly the quality is praised. Overall the consensus focuses on flavorful, comforting dishes and strong flavors, especially butter chicken, while noting room for improvement in consistency and communication.

Went here last winter with my family who were visiting. Good service, friendly folks, INCREDIBLE food! We had a few dishes - can't remember which off the top of my head - but the eggplant, paneer, chicken & lamb dishes were cooked to perfection. Great Naan, lovely rice & to this day, my favourite mango lassi I've had in Montreal.

Not to my taste.
The butter chicken was overwhelmingly tomato soup flavoured. The palak paneer was not too flavourful & had a corn starch thickness to it. The garlic naan was missing any deciferable garlic or naan flavour.
Better luck in the future Palais Maharaja!

Great food, great service! Chana Samosa was incredible. I've never had a samosa this way, very nice spice & great toppings. Also loved the Palak Paneer & Lamb Korma.

During my trip to Montreal, I had the pleasure of dining at Palais Maharaja Palace, & it truly exceeded my expectations. We were three & ordered two Thalis, kadai paneer, mango lassi, & garlic naans. Every dish was delicious, showcasing authentic flavors. Our server, Preety, was warm & attentive, while the chef made sure to cater to our preferences. The friendly atmosphere & exceptional service made this a fantastic dining experience. If you're craving Indian cuisine, Palais Maharaja Palace is a must-visit!

The taste of the dishes were authentic & delicious! The pakora & so as as for appetizer followed by butter chicken, palak paneer & vindaloo chicken with rice & naan were a perfect quantity for our party of 5. Had Indian tea which was also spiced perfectly with milk & not too sweet, & a paneer dessert with pistachios in cream to end the meal perfectly. Will definitely return!
