Review Summary

Ottavio is frequently praised for tasty flavors across many dishes, with pizza noted for a crisp crust and quality toppings. Some mains are described as underseasoned and sauces too thin. The ambiance is warm and cozy with a refined touch, and can feel lively or even noisy when busy. Service is consistently highlighted as attentive, friendly and efficient, and the option to bring your own wine is appreciated. A strong gluten free program and an allergen friendly menu reassure diners with celiac concerns, and portions are generous. Dishes like lasagna, seafood pasta and mussels receive high praise, as do desserts. Prices are sometimes described as high but many feel the value matches the quality and portions. Overall Ottavio offers a dependable Italian dining experience suitable for families, groups and casual meals and is often considered a favorite.

A lovely Italian restaurant with a calm & cozy ambiance. The food is absolutely delicious - especially the lasagna & the seafood pasta, both rich in flavor & perfectly cooked. They also offer a gluten-free menu & options for kids, which makes it a great spot for everyone to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine.

Best gluten free pasta I ever had

We literally went after 20min that opened & was amazing. I love the decoration, atmosphere & service, our waiter was very nice. & now, let's talk about food: 1. The calamari was delicious, it was cooked so perfect that I could say that melts in your mouth in a delightful way. Also, I never like the sauce & this one was delicious! 2. I ordered the pizza with all the mushrooms (like the picture) & was very tasty. Hubby asked for the pasta with seafood & he was very happy. 3. The crème brûlée 🍮 9/10 THEY DON'T SERVE ALCOHOL SO IS VERY IMPORTANT TO NOT FORGET YOUR WINE/DRINK.

We were warmly received & sat at our table. Waiter was excellent & when he was told one of our guests was gluten intolerant, he immediately swapped out the cutlery & made sure she got a gluten free bread roll. Crab cakes were ok, a little mushy & fishy for my taste. The arancini were good but on the small side. Pizzas & pastas were very good. I understand that with BYOB restaurants, that their prices are usually higher but found the pricing too high. $31 for a small gluten free pizza & my Americans was $27 but had to add $3 because I went with the PAN version. A bit too pricey for this category of eats.

The pizza was quite good, as was the pasta Primavera! The portions were decent-sized. The calamari app was about average. The large salad was truly large! The server was pleasant & good with a large group. The casual atmosphere was great!

Very much overpriced food for the quality. Apetizers were 4 tasteless fried veggie rice balls for 22$. The pizza (24.50) had a nice crust but was far too salty. The arabiata pasta dish (20$) was pasta with canned sauce. Total of 70$ for that. Fortunately, the waiter was friendly.

Sorry to say that your prices went up, but your quality went down, proportionally. My friend had to return her wilted & sandy salad. My pasta with cream sauce should have been returned; it was swimming in the sauce which was bland. It gave me an indigestion later on. It was all very disappointing & we won't come back, sorry.

Great service from Benjamin. Arancini was delicious, 4 small pieces that make it easier & less messy when sharing. The papardelle pasta was generous in mushrooms; it as well as the penne Romanov were delicious. Holland apple pie is a must to try & share as dessert.

The place had a good ambiance & the food was good too.
I would love to go back again. You can customize your pasta plate, additionally to the many choices in the menu.

My favourite family-friendly Italian restaurant in this neighbourhood! The place is always clean & the staff is always friendly. I craved their freshly prepared fried calamari during the lockdown & it did not disappoint me! Seafood linguini was divine! The scallops & mussels were perfectly prepared (not overcooked & soft). Everything was excellent. & I managed not to blow my diet plan (Hint: I recommend sharing entrées & bring some pasta home ;-)).

This is my first time writing a review about a restaurant....After reading some of the reviews about this restaurant I had doubts. The moral of the story don't trust all of the reviews about a restaurant even if they are negative. Everyone has different tastes!!!. To make a long story short I'm so happy we dined at this restaurant the food was delicious & the décor was really trendy. The lasagna as well as the chicken & shrimp soy pasta were delicious. The calamari& Cesar salad were excellent. So much food.....we had to take the leftovers home.
To top it all off we brought our own wine & didn't have to pay 3X the price for a half descent wine! We will definitely go back with our kids. My only complaint is that they should add a few more items to their menu like chicken or veal parmesan. Cheers!

The Caesar salad wasn't a "wow", but I enjoyed the linguine with seafood. I did find the prices a bit high for a pasta dish, & the service was a bit slow. For a Sunday evening, the restaurant was nearly full! At least, the waiting time for a table wasn't very long.

On the whole, the food is quite good, & the staff are friendly. It isn't a place I would go to on a regular basis, but it's a treat.
