Ottavio specializes in authentic Italian culinary traditions by focusing on thin-crust pizzas baked in high-temperature ovens and a vast selection of fresh pasta dishes. Every meal centers on robust Mediterranean flavors derived from quality ingredients such as imported cheeses, cured meats, and vine-ripened tomatoes. The menu emphasizes versatility, allowing patrons to customize various pasta foundations with preferred signature sauces and protein additions. Traditional preparation methods ensure that the textures of both the pizza crusts and al dente noodles remain consistent with classic regional expectations. Beyond the main courses, the establishment provides a straightforward dining environment that facilitates efficient service and shared meals. This destination delivers a focused approach to staple Italian comfort foods by prioritizing simple ingredient integrity and proven recipes that satisfy specific cravings for dough and sauce based delicacies.
Ottavio is widely appreciated for its delicious Italian cuisine, including standout pizzas, pastas, and mussels, as well as a welcoming atmosphere that makes it a great choice for groups. Many guests praise the extensive and safe menu options for those with gluten allergies, celiac disease, or vegan dietary needs, noting the staff's careful attention to detail in these areas. The bring your own wine policy is frequently mentioned as a significant advantage that enhances the overall dining experience. While the restaurant can become quite lively and noisy at times, the quality of the food and the professional, warm service provided by the staff consistently lead many patrons to plan return visits.
Food was delicious. We had the tortellini rose, salmon tartare & gluten free pizza. Although gluten-free dough will never taste like wheat dough, this gluten free dough was actually not bad at all.
Made an advance reservation for over 40 people for a birthday celebration, & it was honestly soo great from the start. Communication with the manager was very smooth (& prompt--would answer in a timely-manner), the food service (& food) was great, the staff was friendly (great customer service), & not to mention that their gluten-free chocolate cake was delicious (get their cakes, you won't regret it - it can be a bit pricey, but getting many people to pitch in helps). Highly recommend this place!! 🙌
When I arrived, there was a 25 minute wait. We decided to wait. After 35 minutes, we were offered a seat. I didn't mind the wait, It was my fault not to take a reservation before hand.
After 10 minutes, someone came by to give us the menu & bring us water. It took 15 minutes before they came back & ask us what we wanted. We ordered.
After 10 minutes, we received our soup & bread.
We waited 35 minutes before the waiter come to see us. We made him sign, he always pretended not to see us.
He told us "We have 3 groups today, so it's gonna take an additionnal 10-15 minutes". We Have been there for more than an hour & a half already & had eaten bread & soup, so leaving wouldn't have been ok, thats what I tough, so I stayed. But why should I be penalized if there is so many groups, should you have a staff accordingly? Why would the groups who arrived after us, be served first? Since he was there now, I asked for water refill & other bread for the wait. We never had either.
We we finally received or meal 20 minutes later, we finally had water. We asked to put our wine bottle on ice, because he was hot at this point. He left. He never came back. We had to open our own bottle, & serve our own wine. the whole meal. I mean, even in the cheapest restaurant they do it for you. Anyhow, we drank hot wine. The food was good. Honestly! But the service...
At this point we wondered where were the kids brevage. it was supposed to be included in their meal. We asked the waiter, & he responded "Well you didn't ask." REALLY
When the waiter came with the bill, I told him I was really disapointed. He asked me If I wanted to talk to the owner. I agreed.
The owner walked toward us, & obviously in a bad mood asked us whats the problem.
I said that the service had been really bad overall & that it was a really long wait.
He said, "well my waiter told you it would take more time because we have groups no?"
I responded "sure, but we had been there for already an hour & a half before that!"
Well You have been warned & been served in a reasonable delay, is there anything else? If not stop wasting my time"?
He was VERY condescending & arrogant. We barely looked at me when I spoke, looking up in the air, squeesing his mouth, while mumbling "Hum hum", "hum hum".
He didn't care at all. I wanted me to shut the hell up, pay & leave.
When I left he even said, been a pleasure, come back anytime!
