Reviewers consistently highlight Original Shawarma for generous portions, especially the mandi and shawarma, strong authentic flavors, and good value for money, with many calling it the best shawarma in Montreal or even Canada. The meat is described as juicy and well seasoned, sauces like garlic sauce are standout, and the rice and sides are noted as solid or excellent; the dine in experience is praised for atmosphere and service in many visits, while others complain about crowded, noisy rooms, long queues, and occasional slow or disorganized service. Some meals arrive cold or overly salty on certain visits, and parking is frequently cited as a challenge. Takeout and family platters are popular and price point is a strong positive, though quality can vary across visits. Overall the sentiment is that Original Shawarma delivers great flavor and generous portions, attracting repeat customers, while peak hours can stress the staff and space.
We are in Montreal from Alberta & heard this is THE place for shawarma. Garlic sauce for the chicken shawarma was delicious. Meat shawarma was juicy. Woman at the friend was so sweet & friendly. Definitely worth checking out!
Very delicious food & well priced for taste & quantity. Only problem is they often get your order wrong or miss something. & sometimes hit or miss with the tenderness of the chicken shawarma. But overall great place to eat.

This place is one of the best Shawarma you can have. I first tried this place at work, we ordered a take out for lunch, the food was amazing. Their rice & chicken is really on point. The shawarma sandwich with fries is delicious as well, crispy fries with a seasoning on the top, also the pita is made differently but it's tasty. I came back with my wife the next week & she loved it. The portions are very generous, I totally recommand.
The value here is absolutely insane & the food is better than your typical Amir/Boustan. They give you SO MUCH food for the price, wow. Shawarma with rice was great & the fried chicken tenders were very big, fresh & crispy. I will have to go back & try other items which they unfortunately did not have when I went at 8pm on a Monday night (lamb shawarma & lamb mandi). Edit: I have since tried both of the above (lamb mandi & shawarma)...both incredible! Same goes for the chicken mandi, it's so aromatic & tender & has a very appetizing appearance! The lamb shawarma is by far the closest thing I've had in Montreal to shawarma in the middle East. Strongly recommend!!
I've been here many times. Lamb & chicken Mandi are delicious, But the chicken shawarma is normal. I didn't try meet shawarma yet. One more thing really important for the owner, this is my second time i came here & the cashier says you have to wait 40 minutes cuz some order are not available for the time being or some orders are not available at all the whole day . I know that's a good sign. But it gets me & everyone mad when you drive 40 minutes then you can't eat. Last thing : They should open in Downtown Montreal.
Ordered the mixed family plate which comes with 2 chicken & 2 lamb saj wraps cut bite sized, along with plenty of fries & meat with sauce & pickles. The meat is tender, juicy & the wraps are flavorful. This is a perfect meal to share with 4-5 people.

Food's alright but I can't in good faith give more stars. (tldr at the bottom) I ordered a Chicken Shawarma Trio & I waited for a good 30 mins (the time of order was on the receipt) but they skipped my number. No biggie, a lot of restaurants do them out of order so that just means my order's coming up soon right? Three entire families that ordered after me got their family meals, so 45 mins into my wait, I go up to ask if they forgot my order & the guy just waved me off. It took another 10 minutes before the guy acknowledged me as I kept calling for him after he waved me off (it's been 55 mins now). He was very dismissive & eventually (for some reason) told me to show the receipt to the cashier. The cashier (who at this point is a different person from the one that took my order) was clearly confused & I had to grab the attention of a whole other line cook for my order to be acknowledged. To add insult to injury they were basically interrogating me if I've already grabbed my order when I showed the order time of my receipt. The called orders were in chronological order on a tv screen & mine was clearly skipped. I was sitting on the bench right in front of the line cooks too for most of the wait. Felt very insulting. The food is definitely decent but the whole ordeal left an awful taste in my mouth. tldr; waited for literally over an 1 hour for my meal & staff were very disrespectful. Edit: Since I've written this review, I've been there 2 more times & everything went well, so I added a sta
hello, i am one of the shawarma lover, & most of the time we go eat there. Today because we were fasting, after waiting long time, finally i got the trio of chicken shawarma, it was really busy, & we take the trio & we had a meeting in school. after the EFTAR, the sandwich was good but the fires was really old & a the quantity also was less the usual. & we was lay on the fries to full us because it wasn't any other food in school. any way just want to say that if your customers are increasing you should not decrease the quality & the quantity of your food.
The restaurant is exceptionally organized for how big it is & the amount of customers it serves. I don't know about the beef but I've always had the chicken shawarma & it has a very unique taste you won't find anywhere else in mtl. Restaurant is clean & well managed
I've tried their beef & chicken shawarma (plate & sandwich), mandi beef & fried chicken - Its all been exceptional! The staff & service is amazing, waiting time is reasonable. Only wish they had a bigger restaurant as its always so busy & its tough getting a table. Highly recommend this place!

Very disappointing. I was expecting to eat the best Mandi & best shawarma ( from the really high reviews) . Mandi is not actually Mandi specially the chicken was dry & not good , please visit MONASABA in mississauga to see what is Mandi . Tried the beef shawarma it was not bad but nothing special at all . At the end of the day that's my opinion .
