Through Oorja, we aim to create a restaurant inspired by the flavors of Hakka, primarily Indo Chinese cuisine, where the emphasis is placed on fresh ingredients and great service. We take pride in the food that we create, and it is our ambition to bring this vibrant and culturally rich cuisine to Montreal. As both a restaurant and a cocktail bar, our objective is to shape a fun and dynamic environment centered around a unique culinary experience. Our team will create dishes and cocktails made from quality seasonal ingredients sourced from local producers. Indo Chinese cuisine is surprisingly absent from Montreal, and we believe that its vibrance and imaginativeness will be very well received.
Oorja est largement salué pour ses tapas fusion indo-chinoises, ses cocktails inventifs et une ambiance chaleureuse et élégante qui en font une adresse de quartier populaire. Les saveurs sont souvent décrites comme audacieuses et délicieuses, avec des plats phares comme les crevettes à l ail au ghee, les momos, et des plats de poulet épicés; toutefois certains convives notent que les plats peuvent être très épicés et que les portions peuvent sembler petites par rapport au prix. Le service est mitigé selon les visites, allant de moments amicaux et attentifs à un service plus lent avec des oublis de demandes et des écarts entre les plats. Dans l'ensemble, le restaurant est célébré pour son menu innovant et son ambiance accueillante, avec des clients désireux de revenir pour essayer d'autres plats et cocktails.
Called them 4 times to reserve, no one picks. Walked in, they say it's closed for the day as they have a private dinner. Basic sense to answer calls during business hours.
Cocktails, amazing! Food, even better! Service, superlative! I would love to say a personal thank you to my waiter but the cocktails were to good & I can't remember their names. Great dining experience. A gem!
So bad I thought I was being punked! Ordered chilli chicken & an asian salad for takeout & received a bowl full of romaine lettuce & a bowl of watery chilli sauce with about three chicken nuggets swimming in it, disgusting!
Honestly such nice people, a beautiful space, music not too loud, & the food is delightful every single time. We love showing people this spot if theyre visiting town.

Very beautiful ambiance with really tasty food & amazing cocktails. The service was kind & informed. Big shoutout to Dima for amazing handcrafted off menu cocktails & Finn who was kind & attentive.
Visiting Montreal & a colleague brought me here . Great cocktails & I had the super spicy fish Apollo & fried rice ...best meal I've had in a while. Highly recommend
Cute place between two busy sections of Notre Dame. Asian fusion / tapas that you can eat quite well for not high bill. Very interesting flavours. Not many people, so it was very quiet & the staff was nice & attentive.
