Through Oorja, we aim to create a restaurant inspired by the flavors of Hakka, primarily Indo Chinese cuisine, where the emphasis is placed on fresh ingredients and great service. We take pride in the food that we create, and it is our ambition to bring this vibrant and culturally rich cuisine to Montreal. As both a restaurant and a cocktail bar, our objective is to shape a fun and dynamic environment centered around a unique culinary experience. Our team will create dishes and cocktails made from quality seasonal ingredients sourced from local producers. Indo Chinese cuisine is surprisingly absent from Montreal, and we believe that its vibrance and imaginativeness will be very well received.
The food was very good although a bit too expensive. But the real issue is that the restaurant is way to noisy. It's a shame because the lights give a very romantic atmosphere but the acoustic kills the mood. Too bad :(
Hello, this was my first time at Oorja. Truly enjoyed it. The only negative thing is the service, it was slow. Our server was new & obviously a bit overwhelmed. However he was very nice & patient. I will definitely return, I simply hope the service will improve. Great little spot!

We were a group of 7. We appreciated the good & welcoming service. The waitress made sure we had everything we needed. The drinks were good. To make it more Asian style I would add chopsticks to the table :) The lamb roll, the mussels curry, the chicken & noodles miam ! Prices are very fai
This is such a nice place to come have a drink &/or eat. The food is delicious. Indo-chinese fusion with immaculate flavours in each dish. Not only that the food is amazing, so are the cocktails. There is a large range of alcohol & tasty beverages. It is not too expensive & it’s a cozy place to come either with your friends or with a date. The ambiance makes it really nice, the staff are super friendly & comprehensive. I would 100% recommend
Upon entering, I was greeted by a welcoming & cozy atmosphere that immediately established the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable dining experience. This restaurant skillfully combines the finest elements from Indian & Chinese culinary heritages, crafting a seamless harmony of flavors. I had a memo & chill paneer that comes with noodles. The noodles were perfectly cooked & generously tossed. The impeccable execution, thoughtful presentation, & exceptional service make this restaurant a must-visit for food enthusiasts.
A great new resto in town in the Hakka ethnic cuisine variety. Great vibes, nice decor small seat restaurant. Unfortunately we did not get to experience all the dishes as the waitor forgot about us & the kitchen closed. Of what we did have mussels, dumplings & Asian salad was really good. I will go back to try the remainder. The only Hakka restaurant in town to my knowledge.
Overall, Oorja was a good place for a great cocktail & shareable entrees. The place was nicely designed, & the atmosphere was good to have a nice chat with friends. The cocktails were all delicious & definitely different. We had a few entrees to share, & my favorites were the duck wings & lamb spring rolls. I would recommend them for sure!! The main dishes were a little more disappointing. My braised pork was a little tough on some bites, & the white rice was either mushy & not cooked on some parts. The paneer chili was quite tasty & an original take on sweet chili sauce dish. The chicken chili was very similar to what you would get in a Chinese restaurant but with a higher price tag. In the end, I would recommend that if you are looking for good cocktails & tasty entrees.
Salle à manger lumineuse, service amical, excellents cocktails signature, mais surtout des plats savoureux, hors du commun, épicés parfaitement ! J'ai été conquise par l'entrée de mini maïs & le plat de moules au curry.
Hi, we came to celebrate my father in law's birthday. First of, the restaurant looks amazing. Better AC would be a plus. The service was slow & none of the staff smiled the whole time we were there. We came with kids & I wouldn't recommend it to families. The crowd is more adult with a focus on delicious cocktails. We did not received all the food we had ordered. The server offered complimentary desserts.
I like the concept of the restaurant, the food is new & different, but the service was not up to our expectations. A warm smile & welcoming vibe goes a long way.
Love this place - great experience overall with the staff & food/drinks! The food is flavorful & can be spicy (or not), depending on what you prefer (I like that they have that option). Cocktails are fabulous as well. Will go back!

My friends & I were really excited to try out this new spot but unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations.
Although the drinks were good & so were some of the appetizers (lamb spring rolls & duck wings) - the mains were not very good.
They have the same sauce for several plates, & to be honest it's seems like it's store bought or something. Two of us at the table had fried rice & it tasted funny, almost freezer burnt.
The servers were very kind an attentive & they even took one of the dishes off the bill because we weren't satisfied with it.
I won't be returning, but hope that as this restaurant grows, the food will improve!
Great place, they have an interesting take on fusion food. The best cocktails in St-Henri. Limited selections on their menu, portions are not very big which makes it expensive comparing to other restaurants located nearby. Also, many dishes (from appetizers to mains) have the same sauce, which makes me believe that it is prepared ahead of time (as the restaurant has limited capacity to reduce the spiciness of their hot dishes - for those having issues with hot meals). Beautiful venue the vibe is perfect for fun time with friends, business or romantic dinner.
Very nice decor. My server was very helpful & patient with my gluten free requests. Food was good. Salad was fresh. Chili chicken has just the right amount of heat.
