Through Oorja, we aim to create a restaurant inspired by the flavors of Hakka, primarily Indo Chinese cuisine, where the emphasis is placed on fresh ingredients and great service. We take pride in the food that we create, and it is our ambition to bring this vibrant and culturally rich cuisine to Montreal. As both a restaurant and a cocktail bar, our objective is to shape a fun and dynamic environment centered around a unique culinary experience. Our team will create dishes and cocktails made from quality seasonal ingredients sourced from local producers. Indo Chinese cuisine is surprisingly absent from Montreal, and we believe that its vibrance and imaginativeness will be very well received.
On a apprécié notre souper.

It's a cosy date spot with great Indo Chinese food. The serving size is comparatively small. I liked the ambiance & the customer service. It would be great to see a bigger menu & food servings.
Food was delicious but we were 3 people who each ordered an entre & main, 1 entre was received, same person got their main & the other 2 had not even gotten their entres, then entres & mains came at the same time There were 9 other customers when we got there & 24 in total when we left. Won't be back until service is ironed out.
Came here for a friend's birthday. Our server was great. The food was good but the prices were a bit high for the portion sizes. I tried the lamb spring rolls which were phenomenal & the salad (appetiser) which was also good but not sure how the price is justified. The music was quite loud & the bathrooms are oddly located without hooks for your bag, etc. By the time we left, the restaurant was entirely full & we physically had a hard time leaving due to how many tables were squeezed into the place. Overall the place is nice but not sure I would return.
Giving it 3 star because the portion of the meal was way less than expected. I have been to PF Chang, Jack Astor, Elixor & a few named restaurants but their portion of the food is good according to the price. Even the choice of the drinks were not much here. I was really excited after seeing a post on Instagram but was really disappointed after spending 115$. I'd suggest to offer more portion of the plate or better choices of the menu.
First time there, on a Saturday, on a date with my husband.
The ambiance is perfectly right: the lighting, the music & its volume.
The staff is professional & very nice.
The food & the drinks just as perfect as the rest.
It was such a great discovery & will definitely go back.
Tried 9 different dishes & all were hits amongst the table. Everyone at the table had prior experiences with Hakka cuisine & this was up there with the best of it. Really great flavours & proteins were cooked well. Service was really great & the staff was incredibly friendly. Great resto experience from beginning to the end.

Amazing food. The starters (Lamb spring rolls, Fried Momos, Manchow Soup) were really well made, especially the dips & the chutneys. Plating was superb. Tried the Chicken Manchurian with fried rice. The gravy was so close to indo chinese but the chicken was not as succulent & tender. Waiting staff were quick & delight to interact with. Everything was served really fast. Restaurant was a bit smaller & seating was not very comfortable as the tables are laid out very close to each other. Lighting was a little dim so could not read the menu. But overall a very nice ambience & is on the rustic side & the place was packed with people.
