I had such a lovely experience at Onigiri Shop! We popped in around 1 PM on a Thursday, & it was pretty busy, but we managed to find a cozy spot at the bar for the four of us (two kids & two adults). It was perfect because the kids were completely captivated watching the staff make the onigiris! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious, & I was so impressed with the prices - they're even cheaper than what you'd pay at the grocery store! The size & quality were top-notch. No wonder so many people were coming in for takeout! We ended up dining in but couldn't resist grabbing some to go because they were just that good. I can't recommend this place enough!View more

Well... this is a very affordable place, & the onigiri tastes good, However, it is extremely small, not a place for dates or getting together with friends. Tables are mostly for 2 people, & they have 2 bars to single sit. They have a small space outside (patio), but it is really liud from so many cars passing by. I had my food for takeout as i felt very squished inside. At the back, they also have sushi sama for bowls & makis. My recommendation: have it to go.View more

This place delivers on the rice & filling fronts. I especially like the raw salmon & unagi. Unfortunately I don't really like their seaweed-it would be more crisp & flavourful if it wasn't pressed directly onto the hot rice. That said, the service is great & they're very generous with good portions & affordable prices. Would come backView more

I loveee the prices absolutely my fav part, the workers are so so nice & I love the system they have for telling you when your food is ready! There is not a ton of seating indoors but a bit more outside, great to go with your friends & grab a bite to eat! I dislike how it closes so early on Friday!View more

I just had lunch here & it was amazing! Super fresh & delicious, & I paid under $10. The service was also excellent. I decided after paying that I wanted a sauce & they gave it to me on the house. This is definitely my new go-to on Monkland!!View more

I was so excited to try this place based on the great reviews but I was pretty disappointed. I'm not sure if I just ordered the worst of the menu but I tried both the tuna mayo & the veggie mix & both were REALLY bland & lacking in flavour. More seasoning would be key (maybe some furikake?) & even more vinegar in the rice for some acidity. My husband tried the seasoned egg yolk & the shrimp one & liked those. The ingredients were fresh on the plus side so I'm willing to give it another shot.View more

Many choices of onigiri. I recommend the fresh salmon one. Fresh & delicious. I didn't try the Korean Fried Chicken but that seemed like the most popular onigiri. The place is small. Most people come for takeout. However, there are small tables inside & on the patio if you want to eat there. They also sell a few Japanese food items to take home like furikake, wasabi & mirin.View more
