The Carnivore is a worthy foe of a meal! The sandwiches are also fantastic. After having tried them all, I'd recommend the Beirut & the Saigon. Excellent overall!
I have been a loyal customer but recently the experience wasn't the same:
- telephonist girl could not speak French well, she should have switched to English already as soon as I spoke a few English words rather than trying hard the French. As I can adapt, she should stay comfortable in English if I hint to it if that's more efficient.
- the order took 19 minutes, I think it wasn't dispatched when I called & they started when I arrived. Usually this place was taking calls. I'm doubting. If this change is permanent to wait for customers to arrive, it is too long for me to consider this place compared to other restaurants for daily eating out. (20mins * 365 days * 2 orders per day = 240 hours per year waiting for food to be ready. I can't afford this time, this defeats the purpose of eating out - phone orders must work).
- When I order a'Thai wrap with peanut sauce', I expect the peanut sauce. The sauce was wrong the cook did a mistake. While I am used to Omnivore sometimes forgetting the peanut sauce in the wrap Thai, the fact it is still not there today adds up to communication errors & cook errors.
This review is temporary but is more for passing down feedback to improve. I may put 5 stars again later. In the meantime I'll rotate to other restaurants. Thank you nonetheless for the excellent food overall.
Oh, & while at it, sandwiches portions could be bigger. After a solo wrap I'm always still a bit hungry. More meat & stuff would totally do it. Yet, adding the extra potatoes with garlic is too big for a meal, & isn't cost effective for me to choose. Idea: two sizes for wraps could be cool like an extra 3$.
I really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. The atmosphere is family-friendly. I went there with my friends for the first time, & then I came back to eat there more than once. The food is varied; they offer sandwiches & plates, as well as refreshing drinks.
Sandwiches were decent, salads were mediocre & the babaganoush was very good. However, our entire was messed up. We got home to find that the potatoes for one of our combos was missing. It wasn't worth the effort to go back. Very disappointing. In addition, our sandwiches were labeled wrong so we started to eat each other's & then noticed they weren't right.
Good fresh food but a small menu. Limited for vegan/vegetarians. The service wasn't great, some tables were privies with drinking water bit we had to ask for it's. The menu said all sandwiches have a vegetarian option but that was not the case.
Not too impressed specially after being recommended from my friend & a high google review. It wasn't much busy, the cooling inside the resto is weak, so we were feeling hot all the time . Service is average , they forgot our drink - presentation is average. Appetizer were good though.Forget to take pictures only few. I believe that their sandwiches are good, had 2. One was good & the other samak was not tasty at all, you couldn't taste the fish. The main dish portion size was good , however thr taste has to be improved. I found it on the expensive side for thr dishes we ate. I loved the wine leaves & the batata harra- thr kafta was good but not wow
Tasty food, with quality ingredients. A bit expensive for what it is, but worth it. The omnivore plate is pretty filling. If you take the sandwich only, you might want to add a side. If not, you can choose two sandwiches if you have a big appetite (I could only eat 1.5). Tried the beirut & inca - beirut was good, on the drier side while the inca was on the sweeter side. Nice healthy option!
Very nice place on Saint Laurent with a nice terrace. The sandwiches we had were very good & tasty, however, unfortunately, too small for the price paid. We were still hungry afterwards, for the same price you get more food elsewhere. A little bit of a pity because otherwise it's a cute place.
