This review will be biased although I'll be trying to stay fair as much as I can. I am myself a Transylvanian & I'll be forced to compare this Kürtos with the ones I eat in the homeland. The product is outstanding & comes close enough to delivering the authentic Kürtos from Transylvania. A few well meaning general tips. You can't make a Transylvanian Kürtos that is so tiny & so thin. The taste & consistency just can't be reproduced in a Kürtos that's not even half the size. If a customer says they want a coffee while they wait, they should get that coffee on the spot, not 25-30 minutes later with the Kürtos. The point is to enjoy a coffee while waiting;) The good thing is though, & this is not an exaggeration, I have never had a better Americano in North America than the one I had here. I don't know how you do it, but the coffee is incredible.
Wasn't expecting anything that would wow me but I was wrong. Lots of time & energy was put into each one. The man behind the counter was a machine, working non stop making one after the other. Each one was made fresh & left to cool then we got ours with pistachio cream, they didn't skimp on the amount. Perfectly sweet & well worth the trip to get there. We will definitely go back to have anothe
Si tu aimes te sucrer le bec de temps à autres ou par pure gourmandise! Alors, Ol' Sweet est la pâtisserie faite pour toi. Située en plein coeur du Plateau Mont-Royal, il est impossible de passer à côté de cette pâtisserie Hongroise sans te laisser envoûter par l'irrésistible parfum de leurs Kürtöskalács qui te saisit dès l'intersection Rachel/St-Hubert. Cet arôme gourmand de gâteaux te guide comme par magie jusqu'à leur vitrine. Des aînés aux plus jeunes gourmands, chacun y trouve son bonheur : pistache, Nutella, forêt noire... chaque cheminée a son propre univers gourmand. & pour celles & ceux qui préfèrent une touche de fraîcheur, les cônes Chimney garnis de crème glacée sont à tomber!!! Pour ma part, j'ai craqué pour le Sweet cône Arachides & Cie. Un régal! Mon verdict : Situé à quelques pas du parc Lafontaine, c'est l'excuse parfaite pour un petit détour sucreries. Je leur donne 5 étoiles bien méritées car dès l'entrée, les portraits accrochés au mur nous plongent immédiatement dans le savoir faire ancestral Hongrois. Le service est impeccable, & l'équipe adooorable. Je recommande les yeux fermés, & d'ailleurs, j'y retourne déjà ce week-end pour une nouvelle dose d'Ol' Sweet !
Les cornets étaient supers bon. On avait prit celui au Nutella I think. Mais cest très sucré lol😂 si vous êtes au régime , vous n'êtes pas à la bonne place . Super bon concept . & s/o à la fille au cheveux blond qui nous a expliqué les origines & le concept du menu. Elle était super professionnelle ❤️
Amazing experience all around! Much love to the lovely employees who walked me through the many delicious options & created the chimney cakes & sweet cones (with ice cream) made to order (you can watch them!). We got the original cinnamon sugar chimney cake, the Chocoholic & the PB & Co, every one was so yummy! Not too sweet & a great combo of flavors. Highly recommend Patisserie Ol' Sweet, we'll definitely be back to try the other flavors very soon!

Ol' Sweet Pastry est sublime ! Dès que je commence à manger une de leur pâtisserie, j'arrête de parler. Je suis si envouté par la dégustation du parfum que je ne me rends pas comte que je l'ai finit. Ce qui m'a attiré, c'est le parfum de la cuisson des pâtisseries qui se promènent sur Rachel, la rue. Le parfum du succès !
Très bonne pâtisserie bien généreuse ! Juste personnellement je préfère quand la pâtisserie vient juste d'être faite & encore un peu chaude ... Glace Coaticook est vraiment à tomber !

I went here yesterday & shared a dessert with my friends. If you're hungry, you can get one per person, but if you're here to taste, one original was good enough to share between 3 people. We ordered the pistachio dressing with the pistachio sauce & it tasted great! It came out nice & hot & I didn't find it too sweet. The person who served us was very welcoming & even gave us a cute little introduction & history of the dessert (though I think Transylvania is in Romania not Hungary). Overall, I would definitely come back if I'm in the area.
Wir sind hier zufällig vorbeigelaufen und der Laden hat uns sofort angesprochen. Wir wurden sofort bedient - die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und hat uns Empfehlungen gegeben. Super lecker! Ich empfehle es weiter.
