Thought this would be one of those'trendy' but mediocre places; turns out it's actually very good.
Media posts about the original chimney cake make it look small, but I was surprised to be almost filled by just one & they aren't even that expensive: one with extra pistachio flavour on the outside & the pistachio spread on the inside is about 11$.
The staff were chill too, overall a great place to have an amazing pastry with a nice hot beverage.
Très délicieux, mais il manque un peu de variété au menu & d'espace dans l'endroit. Je recommande fortement de l'essayer au moins une fois dans sa vie.
I tried their new tiramisu cone & wow, I brought it back to my car & I sat there for 10 minutes devouring the dessert, I couldn't stop myself from finishing the whole thing! The fluffiness in the dough, the perfect sweetness of the homemade mascarpone & rich taste of coffee all went together so well! Will definitely be coming back, really enjoyed the atmosphere as well!
Aujourd'hui j'ai essayé pour la première fois cette pâtisserie hongroise. J'ai été surpris par le goût & la qualité. Le personnel était très accueillant. Il nous a présenté rapidement les origines du Kurtoskalacs, puis nous a recommandé les saveurs (Coco Nutella) & pistache. Rien à dire, fantastique sinon ! Autre chose, les prix sont excellents considérant la quantité. Cette boulangerie-pâtisserie est un must !
Commerce exceptionnel! D'une part, David, le propriétaire & celui qui fait les gâteaux cheminée (Kürtoskalács) est hyper, hyper gentil, chaleureux & professionnel! C'est un vrai ange, comment il sait faire sentir les clients comme à la maison! Je vous recommande vraiment d'essayer cette pâtisserie unique en son genre, car c'est excellent, avec pleins de variétés & même de la crème glacée. L'avantage de ces gâteaux cheminée est que ce n'est pas frit, une très belle couleur & avec pleins de sortes différentes de garnitures. Vous risquez de trouver facilement le commerce, car elle dégage une très belle odeur des Kürtoskalács en train de cuire. L'intérieur est également très propre, moderne & soignée. Je vous recommande également la limonade maison qui est très bonne. Allez-y donc les yeux fermés car vous en serez ravi de découvrir une pâtisserie succulente & unique en son genre !
There are very few places where food tastes better than it looks. This is one of them. I'm not even going to try to describe it for you because I won't do it justice. Just try it for yourself. You can even call ahead & place the order to avoid waiting times.

10/10 - This place is an absolute must-visit in Montreal! The texture of their pastries is incredible-crispy on the outside & perfectly soft on the inside. Everything is made fresh to order, ensuring the best quality. We tried the original with cinnamon sugar & pistachios, paired with their pistachio spread, & it was divine. Truly a masterpiece of flavors & textures! 겉바속촉 끝판왕❤️
Definitely need to try this place people. Honeslty super different dessert then usually places. It's Hungarian transylvania pastry. Almost like a cinnamon dessert. & it's amazing because it's like a spiral & you can rip off the pieces & eat. & you can get like what I got which was the classic with ice cream & Nutella & you can add fruits in it.
I discovered chimney cakes at Christmas markets in Europe, & once I found out there was a shop featuring them in Montreal, I couldn't wait to go. My husband & I went twice while visiting the city, & it was amazing & delicious each time. Definitely a highlight of our trip & a delectable dessert not to be missed! Our favorite is the cinnamon & sugar with Nutella. Yum!
It's so great that we have a place like this, so we can experience good chimney cake. Wife & I loved it. Only downside is I wish they had more lactose free options.
