Small, atmospheric restaurant with good food & kind, informed servers! We were there early in the evening on a Friday (5-7) & it was nice & quiet. They also have lots of drinks & some mocktails.
Highly recommend the Zakuski Extravaganza if you want to try a bunch of food without the pressure of decision making :) everything we had was delicious (lots of cheese so bring your lactaid pills if you need haha)!

We had two orders of dumplings plus borsch, carrot salad, & a cheese boat, there was not a single bite left of any of it! Every bit is homemade, affordable, lively local bar restaurant scene. Wish it was closer to home (we live in Colorado).

This was hands down one of my favorite places that I've eaten at on my trip in Montreal! The food was EXCELLENT & the atmosphere was amazing! I highly recommend the bacon & sausage cheeseboat. Our server was also very sweet. The cocktails & mocktails were delicious
Cute, kitschy fun with tastes of the old country done up in a modern style. The cheeseboat was what brought us here, & the braised beef with pickles option was delicious. Even better were the pelmeni, especially the veal & mushroom with their rich, earthy sauce. Sour cherry cocktails were the perfect accompaniment to the night.
We had a lovely time at Nevski. The atmosphere was welcoming, fun, & loud. Tables were hard to come by when we went, & I don't usually like sitting at the bar, but this was a great place to do that. We had borsht, pirozhki, & a cheese boat, all of which were delicious, & we'd enthusiastically recommend them. The staff were fun & friendly, & we're an obviously LGBTQ+ couple, so that counted for extra with us.
Definitely a hidden gem. Food was spectacular from start to finish. Get yourself a cheese boat & mini Kamchatkas. & the honey cake also a sweet finish.
