Review Summary

Nevski is widely celebrated for its unique and delicious Eastern European cuisine, with many patrons highlighting the quality of the cheeseboats, dumplings, and creative cocktails. The atmosphere is frequently described as welcoming, kitschy, and vibrant, making it a popular choice for both casual gatherings and dates. While many visitors praise the friendly and accommodating service, some feedback indicates occasional inconsistencies regarding portion sizes, pricing, and wait times during busier periods. Overall, the establishment remains a well regarded spot for those seeking an authentic and enjoyable cultural dining experience in a stylish setting.

We had a lovely time at Nevski. The atmosphere was welcoming, fun, & loud. Tables were hard to come by when we went, & I don't usually like sitting at the bar, but this was a great place to do that. We had borsht, pirozhki, & a cheese boat, all of which were delicious, & we'd enthusiastically recommend them. The staff were fun & friendly, & we're an obviously LGBTQ+ couple, so that counted for extra with us.

Definitely a hidden gem. Food was spectacular from start to finish. Get yourself a cheese boat & mini Kamchatkas. & the honey cake also a sweet finish.

Probably the best & possibly only place to find Adjaruli Khachapuri in Montreal that I've found. It's the Georgian cheese bread in the boat shape. Definitely modified with extra ingredients & more pizza-like but still delicious!

Olivier salad was good. Pelmeni also good. Love those dishes.

A bit of an'elevated' &'trendy' place, so the price point matches it too, even though these foods originated from a simpler (inexpensive) place.

Lovely staff. Good cocktail menu.
Great option for dinner. Will keep coming back.

My partner's cousin brought him & I here - it did not disappoint! From the minute you walk in you are greeted with the smell of delicious food & a trendy & welcoming atmosphere. The food was absolutely phenomenal - shared a cheese boat, salmon blini, cucumber salad, some khinkali, & the veal & mushroom pelmeni. To drink - try the Don nevski or the St. Petersburg (why not both?). For dessert we had the freshly made cinnamon sugar donuts. 10/10 recommend & my partner & I will be bringing all our friends here!

Was excited to have Russian & Georgian food again. However, this place was a bit of a disappointment. We arrived & were told that we needed to order quickly as they were having a private event at 930pm, which was lots of time since we arrived at 830pm. However, the server took forever & we were clearly forgotten. we were finally able to flag down someone & placed our order. The mushroom dumplings & the chicken adjika dumplings were good but only lukewarm. The tefteli meatball cheese boat / khachapuri was a fraction of the size of what you see in their Instagram posts with only 3 meatballs & the cheese was still hard & not fully melted. You can see in the video the egg is runny but the cheese is hard & it was difficult to dip the bread as instructed on their menu on how to eat! The donuts were also hard & not sweet enough as a dessert. It was all ok & tasty but because everything wasn't hot, it didn't seem fresh.

Me & my partner were very excited to find a place that serves Khachapuri, it was very delicious as expected. We ordered 2 borscht , 2 khachapuri & a pitcher of mule. The mule was very good as well. The borscht was okay. We knew that since the location was in the old port it would be a little pricey but for 2 appetizers, 2 single portions of khachapuri & a pitcher of mule totalled 110$ before tip. The mule was expected price as cocktails in Montréal prices are on par, but 50$ for 2 soups & 2 khachapuri was a bit much, I also ordered the "saucy braised beef & pickle khachapuri" (18$) & it was more like beef bits sparsely covering the small cheese boat. It could have maybe came with a side portion of Russian salad or cabbage, since the size of the khachapuri is comparison to a large slice of pizza. Additionally we even decided to have dessert at home since the bill was already racked up. Unfortunately, We won't be going back.

Trendy atmosphere however surprisingly not packed for a Friday night. Our waiter was charming but forgetful, we did need to remind & correct him on a few of our orders. We ordered two different cheese boats, dumplings, salmon fish cakes & pirojki. The dough for the cheese boats & pirojki were like a soft pillowy cloud. All very small portions but delicious. That being said, I do believe this is really more of a bakery/home style cuisine & doesn't quite fit in a trendy atmosphere. To end the night we got the medovik slice of cake which was very different from anything i've ever tasted before! Our waiter did disappear at one point & we needed to ask two other waiters for our bill. Overall cute but wouldn't go back.

Ordered takeout from here & was a bit disappointed as the portions were quite small. I got the meatball cheese boat & it was a bit too salty for my taste. The dough was well made though! Maybe will give it another shot & try dining in in person.
