jamaican(9) chicken(8) roti(7) authentic(6) beef(6) ackee(5) saltfish(5) price(5) soup(5)So I'm fairly new to Montreal & having lived in Toronto, it's very easy to find an authentic Jamaican spot. I had a friend mention that he knew a really good Jamaican spot & I didn't believe him until he forced me here. I've been here twice in the span of a week. Their food tastes authentic & you get so much food for the price. The first time I was there I go their Jerk Chicken meal, with Ackee & Saltfish Egg Rolls & a cup of Sorrel. Second time got the Fried Chicken Meal, with Ackee & Saltfish Egg Rolls & a Ting. While we waited the second time, they offered us a sample of their soup. It tasted like my mom's soup, I was so happy. Next time I go, I'll probably order that. All in all, it's far from where I live but don't mind making the trek & the people inside are very nice. You won't regret it. One more thing to add - Give me a bigger slice of that Mac & Cheese next time, please lolVoir plus
I was happy with the size of my breakfast. For the $18.15 I don't felt it was worth it.Voir plus
Hidden gems! Food was good; flavourful & well balance spices. One of the best , top 3 in Montreal, I would say. I will return to order some more dishes.Voir plus
I heard of this restaurant on Instagram & decided to make the trip to Montreal to give it a try. While I haven't had the chance to sample their dinner menu, I must say their breakfast options are outstanding. The wait time for service was a bit longer than expected, which might be due to occasional staffing shortages. As for the food: The peanut porridge was a perfect 10/10. The ackee & saltfish with boiled dumplings were also a 10/10. One standout item was the ackee & saltfish eggroll, a unique twist I hadn't tried before. It was incredibly flavorful & my personal favorite. Given that each order includes only three eggrolls, you may want to consider ordering a second set! I also tried their sorrel, which was perfectly made, especially to my taste buds, not too sweet, not too bitter, with a nice hint of ginger. Since my first visit, I've returned twice, & I look forward to exploring their dinner menu soon.Voir plus
