I ordered the crispy bbq bowl & the rice was not fresh. Many pieces of rice were rock hard & the quantity of chicken in the bowl felt insufficiant compared to other franchises. Overall tasted good though
I usually go to a different Monteiro restaurant, but since this one was close to me I decided to try it & it was very disappointing. I got Bol Piri Express.
The portion was extremely low than what I usually get, & they did not put any toppings. There was barely any sauce which made the whole bowl just stale & dry.
Surprisingly the chicken was cold & smelled so terrible, like it was made in the washroom. Waste of 25$
It's a shame because looking at the reviews it seemed like the place would be as good as the others, but upon entering it was empty (which makes sense now) & even the worker had an attitude.
Overall a very dissappointing experience, definitely to avoid.
I went back on Sunday & the quality of the food has significantly went down. The food quality seem to depend on the person working there. Just like some of the other comments, the chicken felt & tasted a bit raw/undercooked. The quantity of the food was also way less than what I have received on Thursday.

Some of the rice grains are so hard they can break teeth. I wish they were all uniformly soft. Aside from that, very cheap for the value, healthy (rice, chicken, salad), ai-recommended, will come back, just please hydrate the rice.
First & likely the last time eating this restaurant's food. Chicken lacked flavour, salad had no dressing, fries were gross & rice was meh. Not sure how this formula is going to win any fans. Never had any Portuguese food this bad. Not recommended.
Really, never in my life I had such an aweful meal. Chicken & rice were enormousely salty. Lettus salad was bitter too. It was impossible to eat the food. My throat was burning by too much salt. The food is too expensive even if it is sold for free.
I ordered the buy 1 get 1 for free Tex mix bowl from Uber for pickup. I only got one bowl be careful guys it's a new scam trick. I took the food but I couldn't eat a second bite. The chicken was under cooked & it had a stinky smell. I returned the food after 5 min's & he refused to pay me back, even Uber did not give me the refund! Very bad customer service especially from the owner! So basically I paid $23 for nothing.
monteiro is keeping me from starving & saving my life as a student that's kind of broke & doesn't have a lot of money & this thing is packed. It's generous there's a lot of food for 10 bucks.
& it's crazy because they use authentic Quebec poutine cheese & there's a good amount of chicken is very delicious. Get the spicy one & it was super quick as well.
Hi, I've been referred to this restaurant a year ago, service was excellent back then. I will attach picture of my last perfect meal & service along with quality now. I lot of small fly, smoke from grill (ventilation seems not working)
Taste of chicken is really bad & not well cooked along with poutine sauce.
I really insist of cleanliness, it's way worse than last time I ate there.
Working team not wearing gloves & touching everything & serving bare hands.
Please bring back the old taste & the quality you were known for. I'm disappointed.
Just a delicious plate , chicken is well seasoned, rice & veggies on point. Didn't catch his name, but big man who looks like Ice Cube's son…..super friendly & attentive , doesn't like making customers wait
