We had brunch on a weekday at monk cafe. & I definitely recommend this place for brunch. They had different weekend menu so make sure to check in advance! (We wanted french toast but it was only available on weekends)
Regardless, the food, coffee & dessert, everything was amazing! & our server Josephine was super friendly, professional & sweet 🥹😘

*Edit* I have been back since & had a much better service experience. Food has always been good & continues to be. I highly recommend the brunch. Good coffee, good evening drink menu. In general this is a great spot. Past: Unfortunately I had a couple of really bad service experiences. One of which the server forgot several items - including a drink- & was chatting with her colleague when I tried to get their attention - which is fine but, when I kindly asked for the missing items they said'ok jai oublie' in a very passive aggressive tone. Kind of mediocre. Another time someone butt in line in front of my friend & the cafe attendant ( I think the same person ) served the other person first ?!?! She waited but, when her turn came the server snarled at her… anyway. I like the evening menu & I've had some good experiences -including good service experience- in the past but, not recently.

Great restaurant, i love going there for brunch. The service is always amazing & the food is great, everything tastes fresh. The coffee is so good too.

The service is very slow! The food is good & the atmosphere is nice. But make sure you order everything you need because good luck getting service after your first order. For example, I've been a couple times now & Ive figured out where they store the salt & pepper shakers, so I just go & get it myself instead of waiting for service. They take forever to refill coffee.

We loved this Cafe so much we came back for breakfast again & again during our nine day stay in Montreal. Excellent staff, great music (not too loud) delicious food & really good coffee. Welcoming, airy & chilled atmosphere, just sorry that we never had time later in the day to enjoy their 25 dollar beer & burger offer. Hopefully we will try it on our next visit to Montreal.
