Modavie est un lieu intemporel qui nous rappelle nos racines, où dames & messieurs se réunissent pour manger dans une atmosphère animée causée par de bonnes conversations, de la musique live et les parfums boisés d’une salle vintage. Né en 1997, il est rapidement devenu populaire parmi les locaux et les visiteurs, et est maintenant considéré comme une institution montréalaise.
Régalez-vous avec une cuisine française raffinée dans un espace antique et tamisé sur deux étages. Du classique tartare de bœuf, au savoureux ris de veau, en passant par la fameuse ratatouille, vos envies seront facilement rassasiées.

We tried out Modavie after a couple of truly superb means at Gibbys & Marcella. The food here was quite good, but not as good as the other two restaurants imho. & I was a little surprised by the $7 up-charge for a bit of blue cheese on my steak, not enough to appreciably change the flavour.Voir plus

We went there on saturday evening. There was a live band which was cool & good music. However the service could be better. You shouldn't have to ask the waitress for water. Its looks like I had to beg for water & she didn't ask if food was ok. I didn't feel a warmth in her service. The type of vibe "I have to do my job & serve them".
I've ordered linguine seafood. Quality was good & tasty but it was overly small & very pricey,
as well as for the drinks I thought it would be a bigger plate for the price. They didn't serve any bread which is a minus.
So if you are really hungry & you're not ready to spend hundreds of dollars don't come here.Voir plus

Modavie is a true standout, even in the heart of Montreal's bustling tourist district! Despite its location, it feels like a hidden gem with exceptional food, warm service, & an unbeatable atmosphere. The food was absolutely amazing-every dish was perfectly prepared & bursting with flavor. Our server was incredibly friendly & attentive, making us feel right at home & enhancing our overall experience. The live jazz music was a highlight & added a touch of elegance to the evening. It's clear the musicians were incredibly talented, & we truly appreciated the ambiance they created. The only downside was the noise from some of the other clients. They were quite loud & didn't seem to appreciate the beautiful music as much as we did. However, that didn't stop us from enjoying the experience. If you're looking for great food, excellent service, & live jazz in Montreal, Modavie is absolutely worth a visit!Voir plus

"Just do it" is a Nike quote, in French it would be "fais-le" this saying can be applied perfectly to this restaurant. Just go. The food is not describable in words… you will have to go for yourself. This might be my favorite restaurant in the world. The food alone makes this five stars. I've had the mushroom risotto topped with braised lamb, linguini with duck confit, & the lamb chops. All were excellent. Great wine selection. Chocolate mousse pyramid for dessert was amazing. The live music is the best I've ever seen while dining. Each time we visited Modavie, we saw GL Chambers & Band who perform a soulful mix of rock & blues. They are so talented & play with such a warm spirit. Everything was beyond exceptional. As soon as we sat down water & bread service was provided & our drink orders were very quick. I ordered the escargot & it was amazing. Main courses ordered were: Duck Confit, mushroom risotto & the steak which were all phenomenal. The duck fell apart beautifully & the sauce was complimentary to everything in the dish. The risotto was probably the best I've ever had & I would live off of it if I could. & the steak was so juicy & I didn't know it was a flank cut until I was told.
