Modavie est un lieu intemporel qui nous rappelle nos racines, où dames & messieurs se réunissent pour manger dans une atmosphère animée causée par de bonnes conversations, de la musique live et les parfums boisés d’une salle vintage. Né en 1997, il est rapidement devenu populaire parmi les locaux et les visiteurs, et est maintenant considéré comme une institution montréalaise.

This place was a nice vibe. The services are friendly. I wasn't that hungry, so I ended up just ordering an apple pie dessert. It was amazing. My friend got the poutine, which I was able to try. I'm not really a poutine person, but it was seasoned very nicely, & the gravy was excellent.Voir plus
Best French onion soup & duck dish I've ever had! It was amazing. The jazz was also really good. Our service was really on top of it but he was a little rude & made a comment about only ordering one appetizer. Otherwise though we highly recommend the place. The mousse was the best dessertVoir plus
Great atmosphere, music, service & food! I have celiac disease & the servers were all very attentive & explained all the gluten free options. We were two people. Had two bottles of red wine & four food items in the dinner including 12 oysters/1 salad/1 French onion soup/1 steak frites, & the total came to $240 with taxes & plus 18% tip was added/paid. (Just two wine bottles were of $120 plus tax). It was nice speaking with Daniel, the bar tender. Food was fresh. It was an alright experience.Voir plus

I really chose this place because they offered live music which didn't disappoint. You really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. The food was delicious. We had the escargot since we wanted to have a French Canadian food experience. The truffle fries were delicious. I also had the rack of lamb, which was good. The drinks were also really good, but we are too full to have dessert which I guess I'll have to come back for at some point when I'm in Montreal again. We tried out Modavie after a couple of truly superb means at Gibbys & Marcella. The food here was quite good, but not as good as the other two restaurants imho. & I was a little surprised by the $7 up-charge for a bit of blue cheese on my steak, not enough to appreciably change the flavour.Voir plus

We went there on saturday evening. There was a live band which was cool & good music. However the service could be better. You shouldn't have to ask the waitress for water. Its looks like I had to beg for water & she didn't ask if food was ok. I didn't feel a warmth in her service. The type of vibe "I have to do my job & serve them".
I've ordered linguine seafood. Quality was good & tasty but it was overly small & very pricey,
as well as for the drinks I thought it would be a bigger plate for the price. They didn't serve any bread which is a minus.

Modavie is a true standout, even in the heart of Montreal's bustling tourist district! Despite its location, it feels like a hidden gem with exceptional food, warm service, & an unbeatable atmosphere. The food was absolutely amazing-every dish was perfectly prepared & bursting with flavor. Our server was incredibly friendly & attentive, making us feel right at home & enhancing our overall experience. The live jazz music was a highlight & added a touch of elegance to the evening. It's clear the musicians were incredibly talented, & we truly appreciated the ambiance they created. The only downside was the noise from some of the other clients. They were quite loud & didn't seem to appreciate the beautiful music as much as we did. However, that didn't stop us from enjoying the experience.
