Modavie est un lieu intemporel qui nous rappelle nos racines, où dames & messieurs se réunissent pour manger dans une atmosphère animée causée par de bonnes conversations, de la musique live et les parfums boisés d’une salle vintage. Né en 1997, il est rapidement devenu populaire parmi les locaux et les visiteurs, et est maintenant considéré comme une institution montréalaise.

I had the pleasure of trying the Lamb Cavatelli, & it was a delightful fusion of tender lamb & perfectly cooked pasta that danced on my palate. Côté nourriture tout était très bon. Peut être un bémol toutefois, les mini légumes ou légumes croquants qu'on voit aussi dans d'autres restos de ce type. Ça n'ajoute absolument rien aux saveurs du plat : personne n'aime ça ! Mon filet Mignon & une bonne purée bien présentée auraient été parfaits. D'autant que la viande était très tendre & bien cuite. Service courtois, mais serveuse trop pushy pour commander les choses les plus chères du menu & nous presser de quitter, pis l'annonce des 2h pour manger... Je n'ai vraiment pas apprécié car on vient dans ce type de restau aussi pour profiter du cadre & c'est pas un resto petit budget.Voir plus

Friendly stuff. We arrived & they told us the kitchen closes in 30 minutes. Food came promptly & delicious. Crème brûlée had a crunchy top & sweet no stinky egg smell. Fois a gras was whole not past. Lamb chops were tender & well seasoned. They had live jazz but it was over when we got there. Parking is difficult at this time because the city has the whole street dug up even Uber couldn't drop us in front of the door. we had to walk then change sidewalks so we weren't sure if it's open or not but we got closer we saw like a bridge over construction to get to the door.Voir plus

I would return again & again purely to see Lorenzo & have the experience with him! He is truly wonderful! The young lady with the gold glasses was delightful (sorry I don't know her name). Possibly the best restaurant experience we have had. We visited while on vacation in Old Montreal & we were lucky enough to be there for a live blues band. We had the garlic snails as an appetizer & freshly baked warm rolls were brought to the table as well. The Lamp Chops were out of this world as was my wifes Filet Mignon. That was followed by a crazy good creme brulee. The drinks were professionally made as well & were exceptional. On top of all this the server named Rad was no less than perfect. Friendly, knowledgeable & went out of his way to ensure we were enjoying ourselves throughout the night. He also allowed us all the time we wanted for a nice meal & music. This place was just perfect. The ambience was beautiful with the cutest French music. We went at an off hour & it was so quaint. Our server, George, was so friendly & made the experience better :). One of our favorite places in Montreal & some of the best food hands down. We went twice & both times had the lamb pasta because it was THAT good - we also had the steak frites, French onion soup, Caesar salad, crème brûlée, & seasonal sorbet - all excellent as well & the drinks were very good. Very cute atmosphere with live music at night. Staff were so friendly & welcoming - we went to maybe 12-15 restaurants throughout our trip & none came close to Modavie.Voir plus

I came here solo on 4/14 Sunday night at around 8:45-9:00pm as part of a work trip. It's my 4th or 5th time here & every single time before was great, which is why I keep coming back when I'm in town. As I came myself, the hostess brought me to a table & I had asked if I could sit in the corner at the booth, she hesitated & gave a very uninterested "its reserved". Its 9pm on a cold Sunday evening, not only that, she proceeded to put me in the dead center of that dining area, as if she was offended that I had even dared to ask. I watched & the same happened to another couple that came in after me. The server (I believe his name is Patrice) was awesome & the food (Salmon Tartare & Lamb Rack) was fabulous as usual. By the time I left at 10pm it was still empty as expected, & diners were filing out of the restaurant on the cold evening.Voir plus
