Modavie est un lieu intemporel qui nous rappelle nos racines, où dames & messieurs se réunissent pour manger dans une atmosphère animée causée par de bonnes conversations, de la musique live et les parfums boisés d’une salle vintage. Né en 1997, il est rapidement devenu populaire parmi les locaux et les visiteurs, et est maintenant considéré comme une institution montréalaise.

Fantastic place, enjoyed every moment in there. Delicate, polite service that doesn't interrupt you when you have a full mouth of food to ask how it is (as it is in Toronto) but rather wait until we finish the meal & then ask how was the dish. Professional, superb. My wife loved the onion soup a lot, I also tried escargot & it was the best I have tried so far. Wonderful food, service, & personal experience with George. George was knowledgeable about the wine menu when we couldn't decide what to order & he was very attentive to our table. We ordered the French onion soup, seafood linguine, & steak & fries. It hit the spot! All the food came out timely & so so delicious. Because we are visiting for the weekend we asked George about local places & he went out of his way to suggest local things to do, eat, drink. Service was amazing she started us off with nice words & was attentive to our needs, & ended it off by wishing us a good night. The whole restaurant seemed to match a cozy & tight style. The live music here was very good, but a little bit too loud for tables 1-3 tables away from them. The food was also good, but did not live up to my expectations. The lamb was just your average lamb, & the bone marrow was very sour. However, the pasta was the opposite of the rest. It exceeded my expectations & was very creamy while having some flavourful ground beef!Voir plus
Excellent bistro. Good jazz (but often more blues) guitarist upstairs, quiet enough for conversation. Attentive service staff. I had onion soup & mussels + frites, all of which was great. Wine selection was good, a bit more expensive than comparable places. Not an issue for us, but tables do turn - they indicated when we arrived that we only had the table for two hours.Voir plus

Classic French cuisine with a wonderful atmosphere. The staff is extremely professional & will happily guide you through the menu. We started with the escargot & moved on to the poutine with braised lamb & duck confit for our main course. Highly recommend all 3! There was live music & overall a great atmosphere.Voir plus

Une attrappe ? le menu table d'hôte moins cher affiché à l'extérieur ne mentionne pas qu'il s'agit du menu du midi. Nous l'apprennons sur place. Bouffe & service excellent. Très très bonne qualité en terme de repas. Plusieurs plats dont de la viande, du poisson avec accompagnements & desserts sont vraiment de très bonne qualité. Les plats sont généreux. Qualité / Prix au top. Les plats sont aussi esthétiques que l'ambiance de la salle. Les deux seuls points négatifs c'est qu'on ne s'entend vraiment pas parler, la musique est très forte & on sent vraiment que c'est une réservation pour deux heures avec la gentille & polie manière des serveurs pour nous bousculer un peu par rapport au temps.Voir plus
Visited for the first time. Quality of food was very good (the lamb with the poutine was delicious) but if you have gluten allergies check twice. I had ordered beef tartare. They brought bread in my food despite reviewing everything about my celiac before ordering. So I asked if the bread was gluten free. They brought back the plate & quickly returned with bread replaced with lettuce. I had to check again if they replated or not & they had to check with kitchen. I ate the food but all the time was thinking if I should have trusted them or not. Nothing happened afterwards but it just wasn't a pleasant experience.Voir plus
Great place to enjoy some solid French food & listen to music. The moules-frites were cooked perfectly with a wonderful broth that paired nicely with the bread to dip. The charcuterie board was a pleasant surprise with the variety & taste. We split this with 4 people. & the lamb burger was a good choice.Voir plus
