Modavie est un lieu intemporel qui nous rappelle nos racines, où dames & messieurs se réunissent pour manger dans une atmosphère animée causée par de bonnes conversations, de la musique live et les parfums boisés d’une salle vintage. Né en 1997, il est rapidement devenu populaire parmi les locaux et les visiteurs, et est maintenant considéré comme une institution montréalaise.
Régalez-vous avec une cuisine française raffinée dans un espace antique et tamisé sur deux étages. Du classique tartare de bœuf, au savoureux ris de veau, en passant par la fameuse ratatouille, vos envies seront facilement rassasiées.

My girlfriend & I walked past Modavie & saw the menu outside & we were impressed. Buddy our server was very professional & attentive. He gave us a nice description of all the special items. We ordered the Snails & scallops to start & they were delicious. For the second course, we got Duck Confit & the Lamb rack & it was top tier. The cocktail Red Velvet is highly recommended. There was live music. Felt very romantic. If I ever get to go back to Montreal, I will be visiting Modavie every time I am in town. The pre fix menu is also good if you want to try different items on the menu.Voir plus

We recently dined at Modavie & had an unforgettable experience. The lamb shank was absolutely amazing-tender, flavorful, & cooked to perfection. Our server, Alvin, went above & beyond to accommodate a gluten allergy, ensuring a safe & enjoyable meal. His attentiveness & support truly enhanced our dining experience. The atmosphere at Modavie is warm & inviting, with the added charm of live music that set the perfect tone for the evening. We felt welcomed & relaxed throughout our visit. Lovely dinner, the server is not good at English so he ended up avoiding our table, which was a large group of 7 & we spent around 100 each in wine & dine so I think it was not so bad to get a lame servicd. Water is not refilled & in a rush to finish us up (& our reservation & got pushed back 45 mins later so not our fault we came 2 hours befote last call). The server mentioned the lamb is specialty of restaurant but it clearly did not executed well, there is still unpleasant lamb smell. But the duck is clearly the star of this restaurant, we got the seared duck & the winter pasta (foie gras & duck meat & truffle) which is absolutely amazing. We will come back just for the pasta. Steak also very good, mashed potato is creamy just enough. As travellers, understanding we went to Quebec but hopefully the server can be a bit more proactive (I mean, doesn't really need to speak any English & just being attentive to refill water or give us some lights on the table in the dark corner?)Voir plus

The band playing live house jazz music 👌🏼 we had reservation but we still where seated almost 30 minutes past our reservation time which is ODD cause they will cancel the reservation if you come 15 min late it was a Thursday plus . My husband & I came here on the recommendation of our walking tour guide & we're so glad we did! I had the salad niçoise & my husband had the onion soup & a small Caesar salad. All our food was delicious - do NOT come here & skip the onion soup. It's unbelievable. The bread & butter they served before the meal was also fantastic. Highly recommend!Voir plus

Made reservations for Friday night & was totally worth it. The live music was amazing & a nice add to the vibe without being too much. The staff were extremely friendly & great. The food was classic French bistro. Got the escargot, sweet bread, & beef tartare & all were excellent. They've always got a seasonal pasta, fish & butcher cut for some variety. Very aesthetic & pleasant atmosphere with live Jazz musician playing. Service is "ok" but staff are not to blame. I believe they are doing their best to take good care of their tables but has there is no bartender, they have to make the drinks/cocktails/coffees instade of having a bartender for all beverages in order too keep a good flow in the dinning room. Now, the food... very desapointed, my husband ordered their benedictines but his eegs were welldone & the potatoes were soft, unseasoned & bathing in grease. I ordered a salmon carpaccio that came with very old & dry blinis, dry raddish slices, there was suppose to have citrus but there were none so i asked for a side of lemon, it was also suppose to come with a dill oil, & again there was none. All i tasted was tarragon that was not mentioned in the tittle. I sad has it could be an amazing location for locals!Voir plus
