Mintar consistently earns praise for its warm, welcoming staff, cozy atmosphere, and standout coffee and food, with cottage cheese pancakes, a pistachio croissant, and a range of breakfast and sandwich options highlighted as must-tries; reviews note careful preparation, genuine care in every detail, and a menu that also considers halal options, making it a reliable go-to for mornings with friends or a quick bite before a study session. While the coffee and drinks like cardamom latte and cappuccino are frequently praised, a few visits mention burnt or over-extracted espresso and drinks that are a touch too milky, and some describe tight seating and occasional noise; nonetheless, service remains friendly and attentive and staff take pride in their craft. The cafe is repeatedly described as a hidden gem in Montreal, a warm, affordable spot for breakfast, lunch, and casual meetups where guests feel at home and return for the overall experience.
Petit endroit super cosy. La nourriture est juste excellente & les boissons aussi. Le personnel est super avenant & gentil. Nous reviendront certainement.
Superbe découverte !
I tried the pancakes yesterday & came back for a smoothie & sandwich today 🧡 Very very good service & everyone there is really nice. I'm a huge pancake fan & I'd say the pancakes were 10/10. Strawberry banana smoothie was also good & the halloumi & egg sandwich too. The side potatoes are nice. Coffee was a bit too bitter for me. Recommending this place!

stopped into Mintar & had the halloumi egg sandwich, absolutely delicious. The bread was perfectly chewy, & the halloumi had that ideal salty, satisfying texture. What really pulled it together was the savory sauce, which added tons of flavor without being overpowering. The fresh, crisp lettuce & tomato balanced everything out beautifully.
I'd highly recommend this place. I was here about a year ago & had their banana strawberry smoothie bowl, which was also amazing. Definitely a spot worth coming back to!
Cute cafe with a great vibe & very friendly staff. Nice variety on the menu as well.
However, the croissants weren't great, & the spicy mayo egg sandwich was quite salty. Still a good spot to hang out, but I hope the food quality improves because it's the crucial part.
