Mintar is described as a cozy, welcoming cafe with a warm vibe and a small, busy space that often feels intimate yet lively. The coffee program gets plenty of praise for variety, with cappuccino, latte, cortado and non-dairy options frequently highlighted, and some reviews noting thoughtful preparation and friendly service. The menu is celebrated for pancakes, especially cottage cheese pancakes, pistachio croissant, and egg and halloumi sandwiches, along with hearty breakfast options, smoothies and bowls; many mention the sandwiches and pancakes as standout, and some note careful halal prep with separate boards. While the atmosphere is repeatedly described as charming and the staff as helpful, some critiques point to occasional flaws such as burnt or bitter coffee, overly foamy or bubbly drinks, soggy or oily sides, and dishes that are good but not exceptional, plus seating is limited and the space can be noisy. Overall Mintar emerges as a beloved breakfast and coffee spot with a loyal following, praised for its cosy ambience, strong coffee and tasty pastries, and recommended for casual mornings and study sessions, while acknowledging room for consistency and comfort in seating and some menu items.
Another gem in the city, if you're in town, do yourself a favour & come grab a bite or a drink, hospitable owners, friendly staff, & best of all, delicious food. It goes without saying that the coffee is exceptional as well.
Quaint coffee shop that serves amazing breakfast items! My friend ordered the cottage cheese pancakes & they were delicious! I ordered the omelette sandwich & the portion was quite generous! Only downside was that the side of potatoes tasted under seasoned. Def a hidden gem!
I had there strawberry banana smoothie bowl here & it was out of this world good. I also had their Cappuccino which was pretty decent. For dessert I this thing that looks like a cannoli but has Nutella in them & they are way better.
Prerequisite for a cafe should be to have decent wifi. Something third world country cafes have, whereas this cafe has a non-existent connection. If you're planning on working, seek another location.

This place is super cozy & friendly! We ordered hot chocolate, a salad, & a steak sandwich. Everything was delicious & the portions were generous. Highly recommend it!
I was truly impressed by the staff's attentiveness, politeness, friendliness, & proactive approach. Rare qualities, I seldom found in any other cafe in Montreal.
Ambience is good enought to dive in to a book.
The coffee was decent & served in a cool cup. The Almond croissant felt a bit stale so i left it midway. Will give benefit of doubt here.
Overall a descent experience, The staff definitely outshines as compared to other cafes.
Visited once again: Service top notch, very welcoming. Delicious omelette sandwich & decent coffee.
