Review Summary

Mie Matinale offers a warm, welcoming French bakery vibe in the Village, with simple decor that still feels charming and a relaxed atmosphere. Pastries are a highlight, from tender, well-buttered croissants to an almond croissant praised as a standout, plus a homemade Christmas fruit cake from an old family recipe and a selection of muffins and cookies. The menu includes homemade muffins, several sandwich options, and a generous baguette-based sandwich, underscoring a focus on satisfying daytime bites. Coffee and hot drinks are a strong point, with large cups of latte or cappuccino and solid cafe, though latte art isn't a priority. The ambiance features light French music that adds to the authentic feel, and the place earns praise for friendliness, unhurried service, and a welcoming environment. Prices are described as reasonable, with occasional end-of-day discounts on pastries, and payment is cash or Interac only.

Asked for a cortado with oatmilk & barista asked if almond was okay. I told him it was fine as long as it was dairy free & i saw that he had oatmilk when he opened his fridge. He also told me he didn't know what a cortado was. I explained it kindly to him & I still received a latte that tasted too much almond milk.

They don't take credit cards, so bring some cash! Biggest cup of latte I've found in Montreal, it's good, not the best I've ever had & no latte art, but I enjoyed it. Pastries are fairly unique & yummy. They take their time, so if you're in a rush, this is not the place, but if you enjoy a large cup of latte or cappuccino, you'll enjoy it
