We opened our first cafe in 2013 with the mission of offering specialty coffee in a warm and inclusive environment.
During our expansion, we quickly understood that as a company, our central commitment was to our employees. It is with them and thanks to them that everything else is possible.
Overall, MELK Café is described as a cozy inviting spot with strong coffee and a reputation for tasty home style snacks and fresh scones. Reviewers praise drinks like dulce de leche latte, lavender latte, chai and matcha, and note excellent latte art and quick friendly service in many visits. The pastry selection gets frequent praise with many loving the variety of scones such as everything bagel with cream cheese, lemon cherry and chocolate blueberry, though some say they can sell out early. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable and good for studying or working, but seating is limited and the space can feel crowded and noisy during busy times. Service quality is mixed in a few cases, and a few comments mention a prompt for tipping at payment and occasional lapses in attentiveness. A handful of critiques point to milder or flat coffee profiles and higher prices, yet many call MELK Café among the best in Montreal and a worthwhile visit for those seeking good coffee and standout baked goods.
Nous sommes venu pour un café ainsi qu'un biscuit & que dire. Le service était excellent, le café tout autant, & le biscuit encore chaud à l'intérieur était délicieux. Je reviendrai avec plaisi
Coffee was okey little over extracted at the time maybe because it was quite early in the morning & raining... I asked to pour left over milk in a singe espresso cup for my baby & they charged me $2.50... none of coffee shops ever charged me left over milk I just needed tiny amount for baby to sip. Not whole cup of milk. She said she understood what I needed but still cost $2.50.

I always like going to Melk when in Montreal. A small shop that allows for limited seating has a cozy vibe. My go to is the matcha latte & all the snacks are delicious. I recommend going if you need a little pit stop from the crowds on St. Catherine.
I was staying near by on a trip to Montreal so I stopped here twice for my morning beverage. First day I had the vanilla latte, it was perfect. Second day I had the iced matcha latte. It was also good but also not the best I've had. All in all, I would go back.

I come here 3 days a week to get my coffee fix & order a flat white. The last two times, it tasted like warm milk with no expresso. Very disappointed. They seem to have some new baristas that don't make it the same.
Really nice small coffee place. Continuous line & for good reason. Quality coffee prepared well. Worth the 5-10 minute wait. Food options are unremarkable, same pastries as everywhere.
Ordered a soy latte takeaway which was excellent. Incredibly busy (went at 11am on a weekday) & cramped place though. Despite this, staff do an excellent job at turnover the orders (waited about 5-8 minutes for my order, not bad consider there were 10 ppl waiting when I arrived). Probably wouldn't recommend coming if you are looking for a quiet spacious place to catch up with a friend.
Average coffee shop with accommodating seating, quick service & reasonable prices. The baked goods were not particularly good & were rather dry & the drinks not very sweet against personal preference. There are double doors for entry & a few ledges to get in.

One of the best matcha's I've tasted in Montreal! The warm matcha with oat milk is very smooth, earthy & slightly sweet. For some reason, the iced version doesn't taste as good & as such, wouldn't recommend it. Very cute coffee shop, perfect for catching up with friends. It's quite small but has plugs & wifi for studying.
